Quoted from Jediturtle:But I have no idea how someone can play a 10-12 minute game and only lock one ball and not finish any modes.

Agreed…if you are playing a game produced by Stern! Most sterns you can just doink into stuff which is probably part of their mass appeal.

This is spooky. Which has the boutique, curated, and intentional, je ne sais pa game play…

I guess the guy just never ripped the spinners!

Quoted from kevster:

Alright folks, I might need some talking down.

I bought UM and TNA NIB from spooky with zero issues out of box.

However, NIB usually means more issues, not less, than second hand, unless you’re buying a pre-2005 pin. If you’re worried, then buy a second hand pin that has been dialed in by the owner with zero issues. Or get comfortable with the fact that you may have to dial it in yourself. Worst case, you learn a few things and get more comfortable with pinball upkeep. Best case, you get zero issue ms out of box. Neither is that bad of a scenario. You will not end up with a non playing $10k piece of junk.

Are you talked down yet?

Quoted from SLRage:

The more I think about it the more clear the Spooky “quality issues” vs other manufacturers seems somewhat skewed.
No other major manufacturer replies on Pinside so it would be pointless to ask for help from the manufacturer on the forum. Spooky does so the forums get filled up with requests for service.
This tends to dominate the conversations somewhat. This same occurrence doesn’t happen as offer in the other manufacturers threads.
Replying here has good and bad effects.

This. This. This.

Quoted from SpookyLuke:

By default we use RNL freight as we have a long standing good relationship with them and have had several personal meetings with them so they understand shipping pinball.

Ive had two spookys delivered via R&L. Both deliveries perfect and I’m hoping Joe at pinballstar uses R&L for my scooby coming.

Quoted from Jigz:

Fair enough, but from "day 1"? That makes zero sense.

It makes sense. I was day 1 at # 1065 but specifically asked to be at the end. Day 1 had a tremendous amount of orders.

Quoted from SpookyLuke:

It's on the line scheduled to clear inspection and be pulled down and boxed on March 18th.

Wow. These spooky guys are crazy. Has any other pinball manufacturer been willing to look up your game and give you a specific date in the next month when your game is getting boxed?!

Here’s the reality people: your game is coming! Your topper is coming! Just let these guys make it!
