Quoted from rotordave:

I was just talking to someone about porting pinball cabinets to stop glass rattle … I saw in a “playfield up” photo Spooky has made a new base plate for the cabinet woofer.
Can anyone share a pic of that for me to pass on to the guy?
I presume there is no glass rattle as I haven’t seen one person mention it …
Cheers!

I’ve noticed no glass rattle on the couple I’ve played and they were plenty loud.

#179 slated for delivery on Monday, invoiced and paid on 3/11, being shipped through R+L...so just over 3 weeks from invoice date to delivery.

Quoted from BallLocks:

I love that Spooky takes the time to do it right. It drives me nuts that Stern doesn't take their decals to the edge anymore. May make it easier to replace, but it just looks like the sticker it is. Love this, congrats!

So true. SPOOKY could easily cut back on the decals, pun intended, but they don't and it looks so much nicer.

Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

To turn on topper, start, action, and launch button leds push the button on the this board in the backbox. Code update in the future will fix this.
[quoted image]

Finally got Scooby setup tonight and had a chance to get a handful of games in!

My topper, speaker lights, flipper button lights were out and pressing the button didn’t fix it. I just unplugged the black usb cable from the mini PC and plugged it back-lit and everything lit up. This was helpful though because it is this board that I went straight to, having read this post. Surprisingly these tips are not in a key post. I did see some for topper height.
Thanks.

Trying to install pinstadiums in Scooby. Shaker motor plug is different from Sterns to attach wires to it. And the bulb socket is different also. Need to figure out how to attach the wires, would rather not solder them on but don’t see an alternative at the moment for the coin door. For the shaker for the UV effects, I assume I stick the probe wires into the connector, one on red and other on blue.

No way to tie into any flashers since I don’t see any dedicated flasher LED’s. All the lights are on boards. In the menu for lights they are not categorized by GI or flasher. So looks like shaker only option. But have to figure out how because it doesn’t look like I can connect from the top with the connector spooky is using.

I messaged Scott.

Yeah when I was watching I thought the light show was great. All the clips of the show were even better. I’m really hope the future code updates nail it as there seems to be a lot more they can do there. I’m heading over to a local guys house Saturday to get some time on the game. Well I won’t but my wife will as she is a massive Scooby fan. I do have one on order #517 actually

We are looking forward to it. Sold my whitewater to get it. Kind of sad day this week it left.

I have faith the code will get there. I really hope they turn the cutler mb into a similar setup as mech suit multiball in deadpool. Should be qualified by a number of scooby snacks and started with a single helmet shot. Then again i have no idea what they have planned for this game code wise so maybe it will get leveled out some other way.

Odd question but does it make a rattle sound? I have to look at mine tonight as I'm not sure if the 'sound' when the shaker is on is expected.

#3027 1 year ago

My only immediate gripe is the short repetitive music each time you start a ball. For the love of all things HOLY, please have an option to turn that one music sample off in the menu. It is also the same piece that is played during the faster paced Space Kook mode. I can work with the mode one but I would rather just hear the sound effects for the main part of the game, when starting off. Not even asking to change the music, just an option to turn it off.

100%. It is such an extremely short clip that makes it so repetitive.

Hoping some modder out there will come up with a plate for the LD bar around the action button. Looks so bare there it would be really nice to have something for it. Not sure what would be best maybe Scooby on one side and a Villain on the other or just the word Scooby on the left and Doo on the right.

Where are those creative geniuses?

The front of the Mystery machine using the action button with a flower sticker as the wheel and some kind of translucent material from the back to the headlights to make it light.

I swear everytime I look at the cabinet, I notice a new piece of art. They KILLED this better than any other theme integration imo.

I JUST noticed the Snow Ghost at the top of the front bit of art under the lockdown bar after 4 months. They crammed this to the top with love and care for the source material and I am beyond excited!!

Just looking around for magnetic bats for the speaker panel and coin door. These might be a little large. Right idea though. Since someone mentioned it on here, I’m feeling that might be a good choice for our tastes…and cheap…allows more mods later on. Did get the Shannon…couldn’t hold out, haha

I don't think the bats are the proper shape either - the idea Green-Machine posted (it's in the image gallery) looks like the ones from the show - I'm holding out hope some modder creates and sells them.

Could we just buy a sheet of plain mangnet material and cut the bat out from a stencil?

My game is coming Monday. This is my first pinball machine. Should I wax the playfield on setup? Or do I have to wait a few months since it's new?

I believe I had also seen a post somewhere about turning down the power settings to extend the life of components that are higher than need, what settings should I adjust out of the box?

I did some quick 3D prints of some in different sizes and configurations to see what they would look like. This is too many on there and the angles aren’t right as I play around with it, but I think it shows the idea.

Congratulations!
You likely won't need to wax the PF for sometime. It is far more important to keep it clean and keep the balls clean to reduce wear.
Pinball is a very subjective hobby. Waxing will make a PF VERY fast and for some almost unplayable.
You can listen to other's opinions on power and playability, but you should play the game and adjust if you feel you need to. These games are built to be put into the wild and played by people that don't own them, and are powered on for most of a day 7 days a week. You will likely only turn it on when you want to play it, so parts won't likely have a shortened life expectancy.
Enjoy your game and don't worry about it too much.

My suggestion …

Just set it up, plug it in and play it.

Keep the playfield clean - clean off any ball trails with simple green and a soft cloth.

Reading some posts on Pinside, a new guy could think you have to obsessively change everything. And wax it after every game. That’s not the case. These machines are designed to be delivered to site, plugged in and take peoples money.

The KISS principle applies.

I have “quite a few” machines - outside of tournament settings and no extra balls, there is only one machine that has an adjustment in the settings menu - upper flipper power pushed two notches on ACNC. That’s it.
All the other pins are just set up correctly, at the right angles and levels, and are stock.

Hope that’s helpful.

I believe it was trough eject power I had seen recommended to be turned down. That might have been a Stern forum not sure if it relates to Spooky games
