LOL...won't work...too wide. I was able to barely cram a Whirlwind and Doctor Who topper in between the floor joists in the past, but that was a pain and looked terrible. I will build another crate stand for this one like I did Halloween. Bonus of using crates for Halloween, the knife could still stab! I like how that looks and the extra shelf space, so plan to do that again as soon as I can.
Quoted from StacksOT:Your game room looks amazing. You have some of the best looking pins too!
It looks like everyone is enjoying it so far. What are your initial thoughts?
Thanks! After only a handful of plays, I would say they have a huge winner here. Super fun to shoot. The upper playfield is probably the best one I have ever played. So many awesome shots up there, and words cannot describe the coolness of the crazy flipper/diverter fling thing. I love that you can easily choose to treat the ramp as just a great feeling ramp, or hold the flipper to play the upper playfield any time you want. The lower pf, while being mostly a fan layout, feels really unique because of the ball paths. Having two quick loops instead of a full orbit makes for an interesting, unique, and fun feel. The ramps and Mystery Machine shot all feel great. Tons of backhand shots, which I love. The apron locks are so cool...can't wait to see them in full use. I wasn't sure about the two rows of drops, but they make for some really interesting geometry over there. The ball can sneak between them, knocking down the far ones before the near ones, etc. Different and fun. I also am thankful to not have experienced any cheap drains because of them like I expected to. I love the "sling wall" on the right. It doesn't feel like it's missing anything over there like some have expressed concern about. That sling throws the ball quickly into the drop targets for some cool dynamics.
I am still learning the code for sure, but there is already a LOT there. It doesn't feel like bare-bones release code at all. Lots of fun rules to dive into. A/V assets are great. So many fun sounds when you hit anything, but not overboard obnoxious either like it could have been. And it is absolutely, drop dead gorgeous. I know it looks great in pictures, but trust me...they do not do it justice. The powdercoat is the best I have seen. At first the green looked like too much in pics, but in person...perfection. Just an amazing package overall.
As much as I love my Halloween, quirks and all, I think it's a pretty safe statement that this is Spooky's best game yet, and I have honestly enjoyed all of them.
