Updated to the latest code today. Downloaded about an hour ago and my game froze for the first time while in the Velma character mode. It was the first character mode of the game flippers died, ball drained, and then nothing happened. I rebooted and played a few games without issue but we shall if it happens again. My game has been 100% trouble free before this new code.

Quoted from GCS2000:

Sorry ended up going into work early today and still here.
Essentially the pic shows what to do.
Remove the HDMI cable from the back of the LCD screen. Insert it into the IN on the extractor. Then take a second HDMI cable and go from the OUT of the extractor back to the IN on the LCD screen. If do this backwards you will get no image on your LCD screen so you know its wrong.
The shielded audio cable you will connect to the audio out port on the extractor and run that down into the cabinet to the amp near the front of the cabinet near the subwoofer. Unplug the existing audio cable from the back of it and connect the new audio cable in place of it.
Adjust your amp to your liking as well as you game volume.
That's basically all you have to do.

Does that render the current rca plugs going to the monitor useless. I assume so now that the audio is coming from the extractor.

Quoted from Rob55:

Okay guys, one more question...what is the magic tool to get this damn nut out? There is so little clearance to get any tool in there.
[quoted image]

Unplug the light board

Remove the light board

Remove the drop mech

Repair mech

Reverse process to reinstall.

Your life will be much easier.

It does, once you run the audio from the extractor you do not need the RCA in the monitor.

Thank you so much for the original post with the links to Amazon... this is super easy to do, and for $30 is well worth it IMHO.

Any BSEs in the US shown up yet? I’m hoping things start shipping this week. Been paid in full for 2 months…

Could you take a few pics of the cords you removed? I’ve thought about trying this.

#10508 7 months ago

Yes you no longer need the other audio connection

#10509 7 months ago

Just a headsup on captain cutler. I had his left hand flop over and looked goofy, so i took it off to find that it's attached with 2 tiny screws, for which mine was inside the cabinet. These screws look cut to keep them very short, so there's no more then a turn or so to be tightened.i would advise, before yours comes apart, to put a dab of blue loctite on the little threads there are, to help keep it on.

This is what holds the arms to the bracket. Pen to compare size. This one won't stay in.

Mine was same. You can replace them. Due to the mech, short is a must.

Quoted from aztarac:

So, I see in the new production update video from Spooky that on the Scoobys, the start button is flashing and the ball launch button is solid. On mine it’s the opposite. Anyone else have the same thing going on?
https://www.facebook.com/share/v/s74jecoab68nyGXv/?mibextid=WC7FNe

I have the same. It's annoying cause it makes me think there's a free game on it or a credit.

Well, glad I’m not the only one seeing this. Hopefully it will be addressed in a future update.

Sadly, a terrible design.
I think they could've designed a quick release clasp, or a U bracket and put the screws on the front and back, not bottom, or make it 1 piece. Double sided 3m automotive tape used for car vehicle badges, would work better and never come off, but that's wonky as engineering. There's no reason it needed to even be 2 seperate pieces.

Surprising that whoever chose this as a solution, or whoever was cutting those tiny screws, wasn't thinking, "this is just bad, and stupid, and there's certainly a better way."

Anyone receive their BSE yet? My buddy just got his invoice for his. Wonder if they're on the line yet.

So I'm back to having trouble with SDTM returns when exiting the right loop. I had used a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the ball guide out just a little. And it worked for maybe 20 games or so. But it appears to have gone back to its original position, meaning the ball bounces slightly off the upper sling and right down the drain. Is there a way to fix this more permanently?

Don’t do that. Lol. That would make it worse!

You just need to do the adjustment a few times as I said in my original post.

Metal has a memory - it takes a few adjustments to get it where you want it to stay.

I think I did mine three times maybe? Two or three. Then never touched it again.

Think I ran into a new bug? Playing creeper mode and during the third steal the paper part where you hit the middle button- locked the ball in the van while it was running and the entire screen went white and the sounds for completing the mode triggered but the screen stayed whited out and locked until we powered it off. (Coop mode)

Yeah, I just adjusted mine for the third time in two days. Just hoping that eventually it'll stick.

On a separate note, I'm really surprised that the apron lock bug still isn't fixed. That's been happening for the last several updates if I'm not mistaken. Just experienced it again and it's a real game breaker. This time I locked a ball on the right apron, the game acknowledged it with a callout, but it kicked that ball back into play and launched another. As soon as I drained one, the ball ended. But then it registered that a ball was still in play and immediately skipped to ball 2 without dropping another into the shooter lane.

Has Spooky ever acknowledged this bug? I know I've seen lots of people mention it here, but I'm not certain if it's actually been seen by anyone working on the code.

#10532 7 months ago

Decided it's time for an update on my favorite modes and then my opinion on ranking their difficulty.

Villain modes ranked by preference:

1. Miner 49er
2. Black Knight
3. Charlie the Robot
4. Captain Cutler
5. Creeper
6. Witch and the Zombie
7. Space Kook (I've never gotten to its alt mode. Only really tried once. That might affect my preference once I get to it)

*Worth noting that I think all 7 villain modes are pretty great

Villain modes ranked by difficulty (easiest first)

1. Charlie the Robot
2. Miner 49er
3. Creeper
4. Witch and Zombie
5. Space Kook
6. Black Knight
7. Captain Cutler (got REALLY close to beating this mode for the first time just a little bit ago. Can't believe I've still never finished it)

Character modes by preference:

1. Shaggy
2. Velma
3. Fred
4. Daphne (this mode being ranked #4 is really impressive because I love her mode)
5. Scooby (honestly, this is the only mode in the whole game that I actually don't care for. It's just too convoluted for me. Too much use of the action button. But hey, that means I really dig 11 of the 12 modes. That's pretty darn good)

Character modes by difficulty (easiest first; assume playing as matching character):

1. Daphne (her character ability usually makes her mode a cinch)
2. Shaggy (hardest part is not being greedy)
3. Velma (haven't played it enough to really understand Velma's ability on this one. Also still not sure how to tell from the iron maidens if the glasses are on the main or upper playfield)
4. Fred (really like the mode, but no matter how simple of a plan I create, I always seem to choke on the second half lol)
5. Scooby (way too hard)

Hi,

I was in the process of lowering my Scooby CE playfield down to rest on the rails on the cabinet when these two pieces fell out near the apron.

Way are these and where should they be installed?

I had removed the board covering the right outlane post because I’m moving the right outlane post to the upper hole.

Those are to transmit light from the LED'S to the playfield inserts. They fell out when you removed the board. You'll see where they go when you pull the board back off.

Problem solved. They fit into holes in the playfield the the board holds them in. Thx.

Quoted from RussMyers:

OK, here is my solution to being able to easily move the Left Outlane Post from one position to the other, from the top of the playfield, without damaging the drop target LED PCB.
I flipped the playfield up, then unplugged the RJ45 cables form the LED board and removed it.
I then removed the original post, which was 10-32 and a very long shaft that touched the edge of the LED PCB and has a nylon lock nut on it.
I ordered 2 of these: (one for each side) https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/02-4195
I then hammered 2 6-32 T-nuts (10-32 and 8-32 t-nuts won't fit; too big) into the post holes, and put the LED PCB back
The standoffs for these LED PCBs could be a little bit longer for my comfort
The threading for the new 6-32 post goes almost to the bottom on the t-nut but not quite, even when tightened down snug
No chance of hitting the LED PCB
Last pic is original and new post side by side

Hey Russ, I was hoping you could help me out. I ordered the parts you suggested here and will be attempting to move my posts this weekend. Anything else I should know? Just take the board off, unscrew the long post, hammer in the nut and then screw in the short post? Where did you get the rubber piece to go over the short post and can I use the one from the long post?

Thanks!!

That's pretty much the idea.

Try to get the t-nuts hammered in as far as possible since there is not a lot of thread engagement since the new threaded post is not very long. Don't hammer too hard of course.

Also try to use the thinnest possible washer under the threaded post. I ended up using a very thin nylon washer I got from the hardware store, but try what you have.

Yes you can use the small rubber ring from the old post.

Is this the 1.06 bug people were talking about? If so, maybe I'll finally get around to updating to 1.07.

I had just drained during the 7th villain mode (which was frustrating enough. I was one shot away from completing hit, but drilled a post and SDTM). Had one more EB saved up. And I had beaten my previous GC score by about 5.5M points. But upon draining, the game froze in this state. Flippers responded, but nothing else. Just frozen. Taunting me that I wasn't allowed to enter my initials. Or use my last ball to blow up my score even further

If nothing else, I just proved to myself that I'll be able to qualify wizard mode once it drops. That's exciting. But man, I'd love to have that score saved on the machine. Plus whatever my final ball would've been.

I'm still having ball tracking issues with 1.07 code, specifically with it spitting out multiple balls. Anyone else having this issue? Prior to this code I had 1 in 6 games where the mystery van dumped two balls out but it's much more often now. Thinking about reverting back to previous code.

Also, I'm dying to get my topper and throw some Scooby Snacks around.

That sounds like an opto issue in the lock, not a code issue.
