Quoted from Merendino:I’ve had my Scooby since Thursday.
Updated to the newest code. Just 5 minutes ago I selected Scooby as my character. Made the drop target skill shot but chose not start a mode and went to the upper playfield. I hit all of the the Captain Cutler targets except one, went to the lower playfield and drained.
Ball 2, I hit the drop target skill shot again. Again, chose not to start a mode and went to the upper playfield. I hit the final Captain Cuter target and the multi ball starts. I realize at this point that only my upper flippers are working. Zero response from my lower flippers. I had no choice but to let the multi-ball mode drain. I go to start ball 3 and my lower flippers are still dead. Uppers work just fine. I power cycle my machine and start a new game. Upon pressing start the left flipper goes off one time by itself but no luck, both lower flippers are still dead.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Game is obviously in an unplayable state at the moment.
Update: Reverted back to previous code, still no luck.
sounds like you got a dead coil in the red chain, that left flipper i bet, contact spooky they will talk you through it and send out all the parts you need to get sorted out.
Quoted from ls1chris:sounds like you got a dead coil in the red chain, that left flipper i bet, contact spooky they will talk you through it and send out all the parts you need to get sorted out.
*adding to this* mine had a bad coil in the right sling and acted the same way as yours is now, lost all coils on the red chain. a power cycle the right sling would lock up and flip out. i desoldered mine and the rest worked until a new warden and coil showed up.
+1 for the faster boot time with the new code (which is now posted on the Spooky site)...much appreciated!
Quoted from BlackBelt:+1 for the faster boot time with the new code (which is now posted on the Spooky site)...much appreciated!
Agreed! Night and day difference there.
Before this latest update, when I'd boot my UM, R&M, and Scooby-Doo at the same time, SD would take so much longer to boot i could usually get in a whole game on one of the others before it finished. Now with the new update they are almost on a level.
Also, LOVING the extra balls and combos.
Is the current code on the website inclusive of the other fixes that were reported since Thursday/Friday's drop?
CE #793 on the way to it‘s final destination in Germany, expected arrival on Friday 3rd November. Exciting

Seems to be. Running fine here without issue and enjoying the heck out of it!

I still have a weird E.B. bug even in the latest 10.28 code DJ posted here. When E.B. is lit and I hit the loop to earn it the magnet catches the ball but will not release it. It eventually kicks out another ball and if I shoot that one in the loop it also gets stuck on the magnet and never releases. I've sent him the logs, not sure if / why I'm the only one seeing this particular bug.
Our machine came in Saturday. Not a problem to note besides a couple of games ending with balls launching accidently. Figured it was code to be nailed down later. We may not have it pitched exactly at 7.0, but it plays flawlessly! Thank you to everyone and Spooky for the support. We all adore it!!
One noob question - where in the settings can I make the initials more than 3 letters, or is it an option? Infigured just because the initial high scores have longer names. Thanks!
P.S. modded to the heavens with the BAC handiwork!

Mine are sticking in the up position. I have not serviced drop targets before so any procedures/tips for Spooky's specific drop hardware would be appreciated!
Not only is tomorrow Halloween....it also happens to be the day #1143 comes home! Woot! Hopefully it arrives as a treat in one piece and not a trick damaged from a forklift, ha! ....also the first day of snow....grumble grumble.
Quoted from Svenop:Has anyone serviced their drop target banks yet? Mine are sticking in the up position. I have not serviced drop targets before so any procedures/tips for Spooky's specific drop hardware would be appreciated!
Yes. I tightened/increased tension of the springs by pulling them down roughly an additional 1/4" or more and re-connected them...not one issue since.
Quoted from wastedthelight:Scoob is home...sadly he has to wait until after work...and after trick or treating. So will hopefully unbox around 7:30-8pm[quoted image]
Enjoy!! It's a great game. I have 1800 plays on mine and I still struggle to make 5million consistently. I suck at hitting the Mystery Machine shot. I kept telling myself I will get better but I dont.

Thank you! After incrementally trying more tension this seems to have helped!

Congrats! You're going to love it. Timing is great too with the new update it really adds a ton to the overall experience (which was already awesome).

It is a great game! I'm not a great player and still figuring out the shots, but try a backhand for the MM...it's one of the only shots I seem to nail consistently
Quoted from Pugster:It is a great game! I'm not a great player and still figuring out the shots, but try a backhand for the MM...it's one of the only shots I seem to nail consistently
I agree I can backhand this if you cradle the ball about 75% of the time.
I keep trying the backhand. I just cant get consistent with it. I cradle(stop) the ball with the flipper and almost as soon as it moves I flip it. If I am too late I nail the Fred Orbit and if I am too fast, I hit the corner of the bumper right above the ball.
I know I suck and I am ok with that. I still enjoy the game immensely even with my terrible play.
Anyone else thinking that they made Space Kook harder in the latest code? It's not mentioned in the stream but to me it seems like there are fewer shots lit, especially on the lower PF, and it's often down to just one upper PF shot which you have to re-light with a spinner rip if you don't get it quickly.

Definitely noticed that as well.
#1149 ready for pickup, hearing this game weighs a small ton. Can anyone confirm? I have a beast of a turn in my basement staircase. GnR nearly killed us.
Quoted from Jigz:Definitely noticed that as well.
I am still continually annoyed that the intro to the Space Kook mode steps on his iconic laugh at the end that is literally his Signature move. You can barely hear it.
Also, with this latest code drop the Miner 49 seems fixed but overall I seem to be getting a lot of callouts getting cut short by being stepped on by other callouts
That's kind of chaotic and annoying

Same, I hope they can go back and polish all these types of things, some things have improved and some have become worse over time.

Its a beast. I would suggest taking the backbox off it will make it very manageable. Its really easy to do and takes about 10 mins. Video every connector disconnect and you will be fine.
Doing this was the only way we could get it upstairs and I wont mind doing it again to move it downstairs if needed.
Quoted from Jigz:Same, I hope they can go back and polish all these types of things, some things have improved and some have become worse over time.
I think that whatever DJ had to do to fix the Miner 49er has caused the start of many, if not all modes to kind of pause before they start. There are audio hiccups as well as the conflicting call-outs too which I didn't notice on the first drop of the new code, don't know if those are related to the bug fixes or not.

I thought it was just my imagination!
Space kook seems just as hard to me.
But still wish his laugh would be played after every shot made during the mode.
Such a tease when the video of him is played but no sound.
#1143 unboxed and put a few games on it before getting frustrated with that damn left drain, haha! But what frustrated me even more is going to move the post to find that a control board covers both sides....I recall seeing it talked about before so I'll do some post searching on how to handle it.
All-in-all, the game looks amazing and played without any issue so far!
What I did notice:
- The game is mechanically loud...like when you have the glass off loud.
- The video work is great
- Audio interference buzzing constantly, worse with various lights or pressing flippers. I recall seeing posts about a 3.5 cable swap though. Assuming one with better shielding.
- Game boots way faster after after 10/28 update!
- Game throws a tons of errors on boot (old and latest software) but I think I recall this being posted before and it being stated it's not an issue.
- the art package is flipping amazing
- that left drain can go to hell
- love looking under the hood, so clean!
- lockdown bar has slight scratch on it on top, I feel it when I play on my left hand...annoying but I'll get used to it. Honestly can only see it at a certain angle.
- I just remembered I have Scooby snakes to pull out!!!!
Went to install the Rocket City 3D printed SD Launch button....it's too snug in the housing, no freedom to move with the spring. Anyone else run into this?
NinjaCamp light covers were a breeze to install...will install the shooter support bracket this weekend.
Alright so. I just got my Scooby today and I haven’t been able to play a single game due to constant jamming for 2 hours. This center ramp jams every time you hit it. I have no idea how this game passed QA at all. Lifted the (and damaged my art blades immediately somehow) and adjusted the plastic and it’s still 50/50. Is this normal? I’m really pissed I got a CE and already ruined my side art over a jam that is just shouldn’t happen if anyone in QA played this game one time

Had the same issue. Email Rocket City. I eventually got mine squared away.

You need these protectors
https://www.pinballlife.com/interior-cabinet-protector-blade-set.html
Scooby playfield is very tight. Have same issue with center ramp, but not as bad as you are having. Balls get stuck for me on the right side of the ramp. Email Morgan and I am sure she will send you out another set.
I'm going to go ahead and buy some of those side art protectors. This is going to be my first pinball machine whenever it arrives... what else should I pick up?

I actually do have protectors, didn’t use them here because it was brand new and I didn’t think I need them, but it’s insane to me that lifting the playfield on a NIB game now needs new art blades. Tight is one thing, so overly tight it ruins one of the things you paid extra for is different. It’s baffling to me that literally 4 flips into my first game, glass has to come off because the ramp isn’t right, now I have to do the work to replace the art for a game that cost nearly 10k. Like, come on.
Im so confused by the fact that anyone in QA played my game and thought it was fine. It obviously wasn’t, a jam on every shot up the center is not the standard here. They clearly need a spacer added and without a tagged post here, I might not have checked the right spot.
And yes I’ll contact spooky for replacements, but damn. I love what they do with design, lighting, everything, but every damn time I touch one there’s a problem and if you can’t play it, what’s the point.
I don’t mean to rant, but I hope people get that when you get a pin, you expect it to work and not cause damage to it in the process for what is a routine part of maintenance. I intentionally waited to order this one late in the cycle hoping issues were solved and it took a single ball for a problem that makes the game unplayable to show up. Call it dramatic if you want but I am so confused as to how someone could have played this game and thought it was ok to ship

Congratulations! Does „truck this side“ mean that the bottom of the cabinet is facing this side inside the box? On which side of the box is the bottom of the cabinet?

I had the same issue. I took fine grit sand paper and sanded the edges of the button to get off the slag and the edged ribbing. Last step is to go over the edges with 2000 grit or so to get rid of sanding marks. Took about 30 minutes. To me it just wasn't worth waiting for someone to send me another one.... especially since I already started the project and had the switch apart.

I agree about the laugh but it's definitely harder, in fact I had a game last night that there was NO lit shot for, even after a spinner rip with 4 shots already made. I should have pulled the logs for it but I was in a hurry to go somewhere.

Totally understand your frustration, same thing happened to me on my Godfather CE. I actually had the protector on (glad JJP sends these with the machine) but didn't notice it had lifted it up when I went to lift the playfield. Luckily, JJP sent me a replacement side art free of charge. I have yet to install it, but figured I'd keep it just in case for the future.

I wonder if spring loaded wheels would help, placed at the front of the playfield. Let it roll and keep spacing perfect without digging into the sides. Thankfully I tossed my protectors on before working on Scooby last night.
So I am officially having a horrible time with false Multi-ball conditions - seems all I have to do is lovk 1 ball in the mystery machine and my game will automatically spit it out during a mode, and ruin almost every game I play. Has anybody been able to solve this?!
Was just playing as Velma on the latest code. Started her mode on ball one, drained and the game ended.
