Quoted from stumblor:

Hi everyone, my name is Davey. I'm a pinball nerd and mod maker based in London, who is known for doing long winded product introductions and releasing the odd mod or two. I've been in the game for a few years now, however the last 6 months have gone a bit mental, with my last two Godzilla Tokyo Neon and Lolly UFO being more popular than anything else I've done by a long shot. Godzilla has obviously been an insanely popular and hype-y game, which has certainly been a factor, but I'm hoping the success is more to do with the fact I give free stickers with all my mods! Crazy I know!
A few weeks ago Spooky announced Scooby Doo, and by all accounts it's looking like a bit of a banger. I'm not usually one to try and get ahead of the pack when it comes to releasing mods, and prefer to have a working prototype locked down before announcing anything, AND I know how ridiculous it is to do a mod announcement before the game is even released.... however two nights ago I posted some early dev screenshots in the hype thread, and well, it's kinda now clogging up the hype thread. Time for a new home, scooby mod!
So what the hell is it?
Oh I'm glad we're doing this again!
No-one else is.
You lie, they love it! It gives a sense of continuity.
It gives me the sense that you need some new material.
New material like this amazing new mod? Boom!
Now first and foremost, let's give credit where it's due. A few days ago, ls1chris posted that he'd like to see some spotlight covers made up that more closely resembled the theme. Something a bit more 'Scooby', like a vintage lantern. I thought this sounded really fun, so thought I'd have a crack at it.
And so, the 'Phantom Lantern' was born.
The flame/lens side, which faces the player:

The spotlight side:

The underside (with some of the base removed) showing the spotlight reflector, lens, and double sided LED PCB:

There's 3 spotlights on the game (I think!) so the kit will come with 3 lanterns, all connected into one of my Lollypops boards to drive the LEDs on both sides of the PCB. The general effect will be a red/orange flame on the lens side, and a bright white on the spotlight side. Some kind of game trigger, likely from a hit on captain cutler, will make the flame and spotlights turn green momentarily. All of the patterns, colours and triggers will as usual be fully configurable over WiFi.
Player side, for the flame pattern:

Spotlight side:

We'll be using the same board that we used for the LollyUFO, the venerable Lollypops:

We'll be using the same materials and process as the GZ Tokyo Neon mod, so if you've seen that one, you know what quality to expect here (hopefully in a good way).
How much?
I've done some very preliminary costs and it's looking like it'll arrive around the same price as Tokyo Neon, which was £179 plus p&p (around 220USD based on current exchange rates). I'll work hard to keep it around this figure.
I'm still not convinced people find you funny, but that mod is dope! Add me to the list you crazy mod maker you.
Glad you're on board! Simply reply in the thread that you want to be put on the list and I will upvote your comment to let you know I've seen it. We'll be in touch when ready to go.
I think that's it for now. I'll update this main post with more details as I get the prototype together.

Quoted from stumblor:

Today's the day! We're ready to start sending out the Phantom Lanterns kits.
Really appreciate everyone's patience. We had a few setbacks in the last few weeks (including 500 PCBs arriving half populated .. urgh) but are on the home stretch now and really looking forward to getting these into everyone's games. Would love to see some installation pics, so please share the love and let me know what you think![quoted image]

Received #79 (Stumblor's list) today and will install later this week. Will add video once installed. Thanks, Davey!
