Quoted from flynnibus:Are you required to fence in your pool in your area?
Yes or an auto cover. Going to wait a little on fencing but will start getting quotes soon.

Bumping this one back up.
Does anyone on here own this brand of fiberglass swimming pool?
Good, bad, the ugly...?

My neighbor went with Thursday and it is really nice. I went with Tallman fiberglass and it has been great.
I've got a gunite/concrete pool coming in next year. With material prices, the price was within 5% of a vinyl liner pool. Big tree in the yard is going first.

So your saying a concrete pool is almost the same cost of a vinyl liner? Thats crazy good. Vinyl traditionally was always 1/2 the cost of a concrete pool. I grew up with a vinyl liner pool. Think the fiberglass is the way to go these days.
6 years in my fiberglass pool is holding up well, nothing to report about it. It's a Leisure Pool. I've used magic erasers to get rid of the grime above the water line.
I had to replace my Hayward gas heater last year, but I run it pretty hard so I figure that's the cost of extending my swim so much.
Anyone have their finish start to deteriorating? I'm talking 30-40years. My parents are dealing with it. Can't seem to get a local company to take the work, refinishing old fiberglass pools is possible according to the Internet.

That's a good long time IMO. Is there a way to rough up the finish and have maybe pebble tech added as a top coat?

It’s possible as long as fiberglass isn’t too thin or too bubbled. In my youth I worked on refinishing pools. We would scratch up
Fiberglass pools with grinders (horribly itchy even with the right gear) and then thick coat epoxy paint them.

I'm not sure! I suppose we have to drain it, and add weight prior to prevent the pop up. I have access to a bunch of cart weights I could use, but the mesh is showing and it's grey/black in areas. I've seen the same wear in one other pool roughly the same age. It isn't leaking...yet

I'm hoping the technology and techniques have changed since! It's getting thin. For instance when you swipe your finger across the surface white color is on your finger
