Well, my Scared Stiff Spider Motor finally gave up the ghost and I needed a replacement. The original stepper motor was made by Kollmorgen and they are not inexpensive. Fortunately here is a nice replacement stepper motor for only $14.95:

Stepper Motor Comparisons:
The original Kollmorgen stepper motor was made in India.
The new one is made in China - not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing - but likely explains the low price point.
Both original and new motors are physically the same size (see pic - the Kollmorgen is on the left) and mount the same.
Both motors feel the same, are heavy, and manually rotate 1.8 degrees per magnetic step (200 steps per revolution).
Electrically they are nearly identical with differences being minuscule at best.

The 4 wire coloring is different but using schematics from both it was easy to match up the wires (see pics).
I used the original connector plug and wires and soldered them to the 4 wires of the new motor (see pics).

Original Motor -> New Motor
Orange -> Red
Brown -> Green
Red -> Blue
Yellow -> Yellow

The wires on the new motor are very long - cut the length as needed.

The new motor works great, the same as the original, without any issues.
If any issues come up I'll gladly report but so far so good.
In fact I'll likely get a second one as a spare!

Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with sparkfun. I can only say I received the item as ordered.
There may be other sources for the same or similar motors.
Google is your friend.
YMMV
