hi you all.

i was looking for a Dancing boogieman mod for my SS.
looking at the market, i decided to make my own version of the extended slingshots.

they are a complete zinc-plated units, including the kicker arm, so no single extensions wich you'll have to mount on your own kickers, just plug and play.
the top-tube can be seperated from the arm, so installing it through the playfield hole is easy.

i would like to know, if there are more interested Scared Stiff owners, who would be interested in this custom design?
if there would be enough interesse, i could make a 'run'

All that added weight is going to make the slingshots weak and sluggish, IMO. I've played SS with dancing boogiemen, and that is how it played.

#3 6 years ago

yes, they do slow down the slings.
thoug overall weight is not all that much.
the upper tube kas been made of aluminium.
in future models i want to reduce even more weight, by milling a slot in the sides of the weldment. taking away more metal. (hope i explain this in English correctly)

#4 6 years ago

I'd be interested. Would be great to see a video to see how much slower the slings actually are with these on. Thanks.

#5 6 years ago

Well, my dancing boogeyman slingshots are super-strong and work flawlessly!

#6 6 years ago

It is possible to cut down the weight and have fast, snappy Boogies. Here was my approach...

Cheers!

The original design had the rubber guys mounted on a large spring. Why can't that be used? lighter weight, and some give, animating the moving men a bit more.

I am interested in a set.

Also i should mention one reason they used a spring was because the shock without the spring caused the boogie men's arms to shoot off. That was one reason they stopped this design for production.

Very nice, here is another simple DIY Boogieman mod. That worked for me.

i am concidering to make a few sets of these.
after playing for a while now, i have tested them well.
they realy don't slow down the slings all that much. and add some 'extra to the game.
i will try to post a video soon of the DBM's in action, so you can jugde yourself.
if anyone would be interested, PM.

Looks nice....How much?

#18 5 years ago

Each set comes with 2 metal slingshots and 3 puppets, so you can pick your 2 most favorite characters for your machine.
note: the puppets vary in character, and colour since there are many different models.
all puppets are very good quality, rubber-silicone like and have a nice jiggly action to them.
one set costs €60,-

#22 5 years ago

Interested. Is there a list to get on and what's the price.

#23 5 years ago

Could you drill holes in the top barrels for weight reduction?

#24 5 years ago

I made similar ones but did them out of all uluminum to keep weight down.

Hi all, I installed Morpheus' Boogie Men arms in my SS last weekend. They work great so far! I haven't had much time for pinball lately, so I don't have 100 plays on them yet, but here's my initial thoughts:

* They're very light. I was worried they might affect sling action, but they don't at all.
* I was warned by a friend that these arms can damage the SS sling plastics. There's enough play in the arm that it CAN technically touch the sling plastic... I won't lie; I'm nervous about the plastics. But I see no issue right now.
* Install was simple. I had to remove the linchpins, remove the sling pivot bracket, and take the sling plastics off to swap the brackets. It took maybe 30 minutes total.
* Morpheus gave me some Boogie Men with the arms. They're the nice flexible ones, not the stiff plastic style, so they dance a lot!

The kids think the Boogie Men are hilarious, and now bug me to play Boogie Men mode, is screwing up my scores.

Thanks for the Boogie Men arms, Morpheus!

To change over to the extra one, you'll have to pull my finger...puppet.

Received my set last week. Built well and love the new finger puppets. Can’t wait to install.

Received my set last week. Shipped faster than I expected, welcome surprise! Haven’t had a chance to install but will soon.

#49 4 years ago

Installed mine...I had the "old school mod" of bent pipe attached via holes drilled into the arm. Morpheus has provided an extremely elegant solution. Half hour to install and perfect fit. Thank you, Morpheus !

Another happy customer, though they’re for my son’s game and a surprise, which will make his day. Thx for the hard work and great craftsmanship done on these.
