I have a Scared Stiff and I wanted to do something radical with the body armor but not permanently alter the machine. I had this black powder coated lock bar that I got with another game that I took off and wasn't really using. I masked it with masking tape, drew a slimy scene, cut out the portion that needed painting and took an airbrush and painted a slimy green (water base acrylic) . After it dried I just added a little detail by hand and clear coated it three times. I liked the results so I decided to go after the legs. I took some black powder coated legs ( from Marco) and did the same thing. ( I'm not an artist here I'm cheating with masking tape a cheap $20 airbrush and some paint from Hobby Lobby) Now I needed to do something with the side rails. I didn't want to remove and destroy the factory side rails so I discovered that you can take a set of Stern side rails and just clip them onto the factory side rails. (Now I know you guys are gonna slam me for this but it looks pretty good!) all you need is a small piece of Mylar on the rail where it will be held down with the lock bar (keep from scratching the rail) and a small piece of two sided tape under the rail to hold it on. So I had the Stern rail powder coated slimy green. I touched up the bolt holes with some hand painted graphics to disguise them so you won't know that they are holes in the rail. The great thing about the Stern side rail idea is you can just pop them off and the factory rail is back. You can even do different styles and change them out never truly altering the factory stainless. So here is the finished product. Coupled with the pinblades graphics from Tilt Graphics the color of the side rails match perfectly with the pinblades.
