Whichever insert in the left orbit is lit; lock, dead heads or monsters lab is where the ball will be directed. It then cycles between monsters lab and dead heads after made shot, until you hit the left ramp and light the lock. If you complete dead heads, it should light monsters lab until achieved and vice versa, unless you light the lock.
