Hello Pinsiders!

I just got my self a Scared Stiff pinball machine and new to this website.

Started a new topic in the restoration section because i noticed that the balls wont get pushed up from the hole next to the crate,
its also very annoying when you got the mini multiball from the crate you only recieve one ball because its censor does not see the ball.

What i did is remove the censor connector a blew air on the connections just to try,
and i noticed it worked for a couple of minutes but now is back to not working again.

The ball will only get out of the hole when there is no ball on the playing field then after the ball searching,
he spits out the ball from the hole.

Well hope i could get some help on this mather.

And also miss that little steel blocker next to the spider hole (one direction) what is that part called?

Thanks for now.

Cheers,
Stefan

Well, it sounds like you found the problem. You can confirm by putting it in switch edge test and see if it recognizes a ball (finger, piece of paper) triggering the switch. Check to see if the connectors are loose. It also could be a cold solder joint on a header pin on the little board. But it sounds like the issue it right there.

Oh, it is called a one-way wire gate.

Thx for your reply Taxman, i will sure try the switch edge test.

I will post the results.

Cheers,
Stefan

Seems like when i rub these 2 censor lamps it gives contact,
but not when i put something between these 2 censor leds.

I notice that the black led board is very black and the other green.

See photo's.

Any idea?
Clean with?

Thx Taxman so far.

I cleaned these lights a little, and it worked.
But other problems occur like it making the kick out sound all the time and when he needs to kick the ball out,
he leave is in there.

Should i replace this part?
and whats the part number?

The one with the black plastic housing should be the receiver. It looks like is was worked on before and not very well. Not cleaned afterwards.

Here is the part if you end up replacing - http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=169

They come in pairs also = http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=167

Don't forget the coin door has to be closed (or the interlock switch pulled out) for the coil to fire. The open coin door disables the high power.

You did say before it kicked the ball eventually like during the ball search. So the coil is firing right? There is a coil test also.

Replaced and fixed, thanks Taxman

Do you also know how to fix dmd problems like "ram address error"
