Anyone have mirror blades on their SS? This one in particular:

http://www.tiltgraphicsinc.com/product-page/scared-stiff-mirrorblades

I think it's the only mod my SS doesn't have, was curious to see what it looks like with them on before I take the plunge. Not sure if mirrors are the way to go or the more typical dark colored blades would look better.

Quoted from MrNanaba:

Uh-oh....this doesn’t seem good....

I had that happen on my Who Dunnit. The connector going from the dmd to the board in the head was just dirty. Unplugging it, cleaning the connector and putting it back fixed it.

one of my favorite mods for any game actually. makes a huge difference visually. you'll buy them for all your pins; trust me.

Can those be installed without removing the playfield?

#2573 6 years ago
Quoted from weaverj:

most likely, yes. i installed on CV and SS no problem. however, i just messed up the one side on my MM a week or so ago, because it was too tight. talked to jose at tilt graphics. he's hooking me up with a replacement and he recommended using some poster board between the playfield and the blade as you slide it in.

Ok cool, think I may get them. Just realized I don't think I ever introduced myself to the club, so may as well do that. Pics of my Scared Stiff attached

Ok you Stiffs.....I have a tiny white dimple in front of the Crate. What's the best way to fix this?
Remove the mylar and buy that sticker set to replace the Terrifying area.
Put the sticker right over the existing area?
Right now I just have a square of Cling Mylar over the area.
Or is there another way to fix it?

Oops, didn't wanna bury your post with mine picture blast, so lemme bump yours to the front again.

Good to know, think I'll eventually go with mirror blades as well. Are there any customized mirror blades for SS, like with webs on them or something like that? Or are they all just plain mirrors?

Looks cool! Personally instead of taping it to the side of the head I'd probably use a white string that looks like a strand of web (or black if you want it hidden), connect that to the spider, then tape that thread to the top of the head and drape it over the side so that the spider rests on the side of the head without actually sticking to it.

#2630 6 years ago
Quoted from BioBa:

Do you mean that the spider would hang off the string on the side?
I positioned the spider there because there is a spider depicted on the decal at that spot.

Yeah hang it off the side, position it over the existing spider decal then tape the string up top on the head.

Quoted from spfxted:

Put 2 spiders...one on each side connected with the "web" ...drape across the top and they would balance each other.....no tape!

That's an even better idea Maybe still put one piece of tape anyways in the middle of the string on the head so that the spiders don't potentially fall when shaking the game.

Quoted from arcademojo:

I’ve only played this game a handful of times in my life. Love the theme, campy B movie horror humor and easy to understand rule set. Just got my best score on it last night. Yeah I know it’s not the greatest but still new to the game.

Reminds me how much I suck at pinball lol, I've had the game for a while and 16 million is my top score. Still haven't completed the stiiff-o-meter.

Ah ok, I always reset every pin I get to factory settings, and enabling free play is the only setting I change. Makes me feel a little better I suppose

Quoted from JWE:

Wondering at the end of a ball are you able to press both flippers to stop the bonus sequence early. I tried it on my SS and it doesn’t stop but it does stop on other WPC games.

Mine does that as well, no way to stop the bonus sequence early. Always wondered if that was normal.

After all these years, finally got Scared Stiff mode for the first time! The effect show it does for that is awesome, never saw it before. Doubt I can pull off wizard mode though.

Looking for a Topper for my SS ?
Any suggestions

This is what I have on mine. Has a remote so you can set the modes like flashing, random colors, slow color cycling, etc...

Some of the playfield differences on my sample version. Different face on number three, 'saved by the spell' on the outline insert (referring to the removed kickback) and green electrifying text.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Does your playfield have a date on it? Curious how much earlier it was compared to the shipping versions. Here's the date on mine.
