I don't know any Scared Stiff owner that doesn't already have Dancing Bogeys on his game.
Adding them is the first thing everyone did after buying the game.

I love my scared stiff and I don't have dancing boogies. I find them annoying but it is nice to have the option
Quoted from Morpheus:i would like to know, if there are more interested Scared Stiff owners, who would be interested in this custom design?
If anyone doesn't have them...this is the way to go! Thanks!!

You can make every modification and install many mods you want, but a SS without dancing boogeyman will never be complete!
Quoted from Morpheus:they are a complete zinc-plated units, including the kicker arm, so no single extensions wich you'll have to mount on your own kickers. just plug and play.
the top-tube can be seperated from the arm, so installing it through the playfield hole is easy.
They look great, but the only problem is that there is no hole in the tube for you to feed the wires for the bulbs to light the boogiemen. (Also does a 444bulb holder fit inside the tube? )
Quoted from boogieman:They look great, but the only problem is that there is no hole in the tube for you to feed the wires for the bulbs to light the boogiemen. (Also does a 444bulb holder fit inside the tube? )
when a light would be mounted inside the tube, the light would only exit at the top, not arround.
fitting lights was and is not my intention.
just a clean, solid design, wich will last a lifetime.
I was thinking of getting these for my Scared Stiff. Anyone have them? Are they good?

Can those be installed without removing the playfield?
Quoted from Reality_Studio:Can those be installed without removing the playfield?
Good question!! Can you?...because that's WAY out of my pay grade!
Quoted from Reality_Studio:Can those be installed without removing the playfield?
most likely, yes. i installed on CV and SS no problem. however, i just messed up the one side on my MM a week or so ago, because it was too tight. talked to jose at tilt graphics. he's hooking me up with a replacement and he recommended using some poster board between the playfield and the blade as you slide it in.
Rough stiff to mint stiff update.
Out with the old and in with the new. Playfield Components all moved over and back up and running.....looking glassy.
Still have cabinet decals sitting here to be done and still waiting on new ramps.
Quoted from spfxted:Sheesh! Maybe I'll stick wit just getting PDI Glass or the color DMD.....
bah, man up. it's nothing that hasn't stopped me from doing it on multiple games. worst case scenario, you pull the playfield out vertically and have someone hold it there for a few minutes while you install. mind you, i've never had to do it that way, so i'm probably just making it sound worse.
my SS came with a colordmd. do that, too . my MM needs one so bad. probably Tron...
I'll probably end up getting them....BUT, after color DMD and Invisiglass, or maybe Houdini Glass. (waiting for a price on that)
Ok you Stiffs.....I have a tiny white dimple in front of the Crate. What's the best way to fix this?
Remove the mylar and buy that sticker set to replace the Terrifying area.
Put the sticker right over the existing area?
Right now I just have a square of Cling Mylar over the area.
Or is there another way to fix it?

Ok cool, think I may get them. Just realized I don't think I ever introduced myself to the club, so may as well do that. Pics of my Scared Stiff attached

Oops, didn't wanna bury your post with mine picture blast, so lemme bump yours to the front again.

No worries! A beautiful machine! Velcome to the Club!!

replacing with what?

Wow that's one mint stiff!
Quoted from spfxted:Anybody have any advice on fixing my Crate dinker? (pix above)
Thanks!
Seeing it's so small, I would be tempted to remove the Mylar, little paint touch up, couple drops of clear and then remylar. I'm not a fan of playfield decals but each their own.

You may be right as it's so small. I will look into that. Thanks!
Does Scared Stiff need those Leg Protector things? If so, what is best? Just the felt? The plastic? The metal and plastic?
I just sent stuff out to be powdercoated. Gloss black lockdown bar....legs, black fade to blood red....
i like the plastic ones. mine came with black, but green could be cool. i usually prefer accent color.
Quoted from spfxted:Never mind...found out it's ok!
Any pic of this custom shooter?
Quoted from spfxted:Are the mirror blades easier to deal with?
I put mirror blades on my SS (and SWPro), and GameBlades on my GBPro. Here's my thoughts:
Mirror blades are really easy to install. Basically, lift the playfield, slide it as far to one side as you can, remove the mirror blade protective film, place them in the cab, C-clamp them in place, and pop three small wood screws through pre-drilled holes in the mirror blades. Slide the playfield as far to the other side as you can, repeat, and lower the playfield. It's really easy. I will say that some playfields get tight in their cabinet (I've got one DCS table that doesn't have enough clearance anymore), so it's possible yours is snug enough that mirror blades wouldn't fit. But if there's some play left-to-right inside your cabinet, it's super easy.
GameBlades are still not super hard, but take much more work. Basically, lift the playfield, slide it as far to one side as you can, remove the game blade backing, spray it pretty heavily with soapy water (think beaded water on your car's hood), slide it into the playfield, smooth out the bubbles and creases, and remove the excess water. Slide the playfield as far to the other side as you can, repeat, and lower the playfield. You have plenty of time to move the GameBlades around before they get sticky, but it's a bit of a pain to get everything lined up perfectly, depending on how obsessive you are.
As for which looks better? It's up to taste of course. I like the mirrors in my Scared Stiff cause it really sets off the orb flashers, you can see more of the art and playfield in the Lab, and you can actually SEE the Secret Passage in play. That said, I really like my GB's GameBlades, too. It really completes the art package in an intangible but attractive way.
Either way, if Scared Stiff is a keeper for you (har har), I highly recommend doing either one. It's a great visual upgrade for not much cash.
agreed. i see people spending the same or even more money on the dumbest little things. blades are huge bang for the buck.
Quoted from spfxted:Looks like Mirror is the way to go.....Thanks!!
Good choice!

Mirror blades look better on some machines than on others.
But Scared Stiff may be the best use of mirror blades because of the orb flashers around the perimeter of the playfield.
