For those who know someone wanting a very clean, shiny, and well modded Scared Stiff machine, mine is on display for sale at Pinball Life Company in Huntley IL and will be there for the big open house party October 17th. I already have it listed on the Pinside Market. I'm seeking a little more than usual, as the cabinet and playfield are excellent, plus loads of new parts (glass, side rails, legs, etc.) and all the good mods; skull pile, skull candles, bony fillpers, eyeball shooter, under cab lights, LEDs, dancing boogie men, TV mod...more. $6395. Again, see the Pinside Marketplace for details. Thanks.

I noticed that estimated values are now back on the Top 100 page. Most of them seem about right, but Scared Stiff seems waaaaay off.

Estimated value
$2960 - $3440

Ummm...

I just bought mine a couple of months ago, and couldn't find one ANYWHERE for under $4K. I'd say the range is more like $4K-$6K, depending on condition/mods.

What do you stiffs think?

Ted would know, considering how many times he has sold his.

$4K is definitely the bottom price. CQ would easily be $7K if not more. I sold my NIB for more than twice that!

Back by popular demand and also my need of money; SCARED STIFF LIGHTED SKULL TOPPERS! This is a trio of great quality and realistic looking skulls with articulating jaws. They come mounted on a wood base with plug and play wiring to the three "Dead Head Skulls" at the back of the playfield. Last year these sold out very quickly, so please email me with your interest as only a few will be made this October. Please also let me know your choice of Red, White, or Green eyes. (The playfield art shows red eyes.) These include domed non-ghosting 5050 LEDs and ample wire to feed through the back vent of the back box into the 555 wedge sockets of the game controlled illumination where they plug in. Includes step by step photographic instructions. These are 3 life-sized skulls and require a large box for shipping. Please add $17 for packaging and shipping via USPS insured ground delivery to continental U.S. locations. Accepting Paypal. Here is a link to a video demo...

The full ad for this is on the Pinside Marketplace.

FYI, most SS should have shipped with a snake skull that was glow in the dark; just the ribs were switched out to normal plastic.

From a fresh Elvira interview when asked about what product baring her name she was most proud of:
"But I think I might be proudest of my pinball machines since I was so into pinball when I was younger. One of the Scared Stiff games sold for the highest price of any pinball machine ever!"

#1530 9 years ago

Is it worth getting this?

#1531 9 years ago

I wouldn't say so in a home use environment with regular cleaning....only takes a few minutes to keep em clean

#1532 9 years ago

Got ya! Thanks!

Agreed. A good coat of wax every now and then and you'll be good to go.

#1534 9 years ago

My second SS and it's a keeper. Mint as mint can be. Added colour skulls and dancing boogie man mods. The last think I added was color DMD and man does that work out nice on this game. Looks fantastic.

It's a keeper!

#1536 9 years ago

Oh...and did I tell yuz....I FINALLY, after 8 years and 3 machines, made it to Monster Multiball!
...Disclaimer: I play 5 ball

It's ok, Ted. That's how I roll too.

#1538 9 years ago

I feel better now. Thanks!

#1539 9 years ago

ColorDMD on SS is absolutely gorgeous

#1540 9 years ago

Is this still the best ? only place to get the dancing boogie man mod around?

http://www.freeplayamusements.com/boogie.htm

Color DMD does look great, Its a pricy mod, but damn its sexy.

No. And it will slow down game play. Just keep her nice and clean and waxed. (There's an image for you!)

I would go so far to say it is a must-have mod for SS. And so easy to install.

I dunno about the mod itself, but I'm not big on those new plastic puppets, they don't have any "flop" to them. Worth hunting around on eBay for the real thing, that's what I did.

Quoted from CptAwesomest:

Since I no longer sell them, yes, that is the best/only place to get them.

I agree with Aurich on the plastic puppets. The rubber ones are around if you look.

#1545 9 years ago
Quoted from RobertWinter:

The rubber ones are around if you look.

I scored a decent batch that I horde since I need them for both Scared Stiff and EATPM. Sucks that they don't make them like that anymore.

#1546 9 years ago

I need a "right side Boogie Man"! Air ball took off his upper jaw! Grrrrr!

IMG_3661.JPGIMG_3661.JPG

#1547 9 years ago

The plastic ones suck. Spend a bit more and get the real rubber ones. I paid more than I should for some spares, but it's a drop in the bucket compared to the price of the game.

#1548 9 years ago

Anybody got the one I need??
...can I glue it?

#1549 9 years ago

Someone hook Ted up with a boogieman......the guy founded the Scared Stiff Club!!!
