Craigslist scam that I haven’t come across before.

This guy has a Funhouse for sale and it’s only 1400!! It’s currently in Mexico and all I have to do is send an $800 deposit and he'll ship it ASAP. Once I am satisfied I can send the remainder of the balance.

What made this scam unique is that the guy wanted to talk on the phone, and we did. He explained that he is renovating his "game house" and is selling a few machines. This is where a lot more red flags showed up. I asked him some pinball questions like what's your favorite game, favorite designer, etc. and I could tell he had no idea about pinball. He's English was terrible too, not a sign that it's a scam but still made me wonder.

Goes by the name Perry Lawson (LOL).

There was one for sale just a day or so ago in Suffield CT—the listing is gone so I can’t check for sure, but the back box photo looks close to what I recall.

Yes, those are pics of the FunHouse I listed for sale / trade here on Sunday. The person I traded it to is not named Perry Lawson and he does not reside in Mexico, lol.

Hopefully no one gets scammed by this..

OP - Tell him that Royal Rumble is your favorite game and you want a package deal. Ask him to send some pics of them together. Curious to see what they come up with.

Man if they would just learn the english language they might have better luck with there scams.

    #7 6 years ago

IMHO, anyone stupid enough to send the $800 deposit deserves to get scammed.

I would definitely ask more about royal rumble

Favorite game. Sure, I can answer that in a roundabout way. Favorite designer, though? Just like music, I listen to the songs. I don't study the title of the tracks. I couldn't tell you 90% of the song titles that I like. So i wouldn't be able to tell you who my favorite pinball designer is. I don't care enough to know that info. I just like to play.
