Couldn’t leave this Pinbot stranded. Saw this posted for only $150. Hopefully it’s not completely trashed. Looks like it’s been in a garage for a while.

All play field parts are supposedly there but they said the CPU might have acid damage.

I’ll post more pics when I pick it up tomorrow evening! This is going to be my first pinball project.

Lucky!!! Nice find! I am looking for one close to me and kind find anything.

#5 6 years ago

Awesome.... restore thread coming?

#6 6 years ago

Doesn't look terrible, and $150 price tag leaves lots of room for new parts.

First off, you get an
"Atta boy! for the rescue.
And second, another
"Atta boy!" for your first project.

Topper looks great (unusual on Pinbots in barns and garages), but WOW those legs are SUPER rusted. Is this by the ocean?

No, it won't have acid damage. It may have alkaline damage.

#11 6 years ago

Thanks for the replies! Gonna try my best to get Pinbot working again. Pinside should help for that.

That’s good news on the topper, hoping it’s not dry rotted to a crisp.

I’m curious about the legs being so rusted, wonder if they were left outside and the pin was put inside. This is about an hour southeast of Raleigh so not very close to the ocean.

Getting excited for tomorrow!

Don't post pics and details of a score until after you've picked up. If it's a steal of a deal, deplorables will attempt to steal your deal...

Hopefully it sitting on the floor without legs kept mice from getting inside the cabinet. Coin door looks closed. Good signs.

Ancient Pinball proverb;

Do not post about a game you are saving tomorrow, unless you pick up today!

Looks like a good find!

#16 6 years ago

Glad no one stole it out from under you. What a great find and a fun project. Congrats!

Pinbot Circuits Activated!
Looks like you got a steal. Unless there's a body in there............

#20 6 years ago

Glad nobody stole Pinbot, definitely got excited and jumped the gun telling Pinside. Lesson learned

Looks like the playfield is in pretty good condition for sitting in a barn garage for the last 6 years. All the plastics are there and not cracked.

The rubbers are dry rotted as expected and there is some alkaline damage. The owner did take the batteries out when he saw them leaking years ago. I have only cleaned the glass and the translite.

Haven’t turned it on yet but the owner said it did work years ago but had switch problems. Or problems from the batteries leaking. I’m going to read up before I attempt to turn it on.

Congrats on your find. It looks like you have quite a bit of alkaline damage, not sure if it has eaten through your traces yet. If you need repairs and are not going to do it yourself, I would recommend Chris Hibler. He resurrected my Space Station board.

Congrats on what appears to be a terrific score!
Quick question, what is this part? I had one loose just like it in my Bally Atlantis.
