Quoted from PinMonk:Yes, you're good. But make sure you're ONLY using FAT for formatting. NTFS will not work.
It's likely you just have two USB sticks that the board doesn't like. Micro center for sure, but I don't have any Kingston sticks so I can't verify that. I'd just try a PNY stick, or failing that, a Sandisk, but there's a LOT of fake Sandisks out there, to it's a little more dicey.
Shockingly, I have a Staples branded USB 3.0 stick that works great for this, which is a surprise because I expected it to be garbage.
Yes, make sure it’s FAT 32. If you didn’t specify when you initially formatted, Windows may have defaulted to NTFS.
Another possibility is to try a 2gb or less stick. For some reason there is a compatibility difference with higher capacities similar to the issue with SD vs. SDHC memory cards.
I have used both Wintec Filemate Mini 2gb and Verbatim Store ‘n Go 2gb sticks in my SAM games with no issues. I think I may have a few of them still stockpiled, so if all else fails PM me.
