I'm looking to install a set of powered backbox speakers (including separate amplifier) in my Tron Pro (2012). I found this reference to where one can solder in the wires to capture the audio pre-out (unamplified) from the SAM MPU board, but I don't have any schematics for SAM and I was unable to locate them visually.

STERN SAM PRE-AMP OUT

Stern Sam: Does not appear to be on a connector but test points are your friend. (TP10-Left, TP11-Right, grab GND from CN4 pin 7)

Can somebody post a picture of the SAM board with the location of these test points highlighted (and/or where I can get the schematics for the SAM boards)?

Much appreciated!

Quoted from RatShack:

TSPP is Whitestar. Maybe try the Family Guy manual, that was the 1st SAM game.

Good catch.

So I found a Tron manual on the Stern site, poor quality scan and only includes a component diagram for SAM CPU/Sound Board 520-5246-00. At least I can see where the test points are on the board. On this diagram TP10 is labelled "RESET#" and TP11 is "VBAT".

I also see in the Family Guy manual they refer to SAM v520-5246-00. TP10 and TP11 are labelled the same though. At least there are actual schematics included in the Family Guy manual. I'll have to study them a bit to see what I can make of it in terms of identifying/confirming where to access the pre-amp audio signal from.

Thanks.

Quoted from ChrisHibler:

FWIW, the S.A.M. board set is a compacted WhiteStar (modified) board set. Quite a bit of the circuitry is identical.

Right. Seems that the audio circuitry is the same.
