Hey, I’ve almost finished my playfield swap - can someone tell me if this plug has a partner? It has two wires going into each hole which tells me it maybe doesnt - with one of the wires coming from the backbox and one going to the playfield. But just want to be sure as my game isn’t booting up yet.
The plug is at the back right of the playfield.

I’ve just finished restoring my Safe Cracker with clear ramps and thought I’d show off the decals I asked Mr_Tantrum to design for me to hide the rightmost coil. One of the side effects of the clear ramps is you can obviously see everything under them and that coil just looked ugly.
He was absolutely fastidious when it came to measurements and such and there were many back and forth emails with me printing off examples and trying them for size. This paid off because when I applied them they were millimetre perfect.
Anyway, here’s the before and after shots. He has them for sale and I reckon they’d look great on the red ramps as well.

I like his decal, but I would have loved it to be a pinball 'launching' into a safe - would have made more sense I think...the whole ball 'lock' concept and all that...something like that...

I design to what the customer wants, and he thought the shooting gun worked with the overall theme. If you or anyone else would like an alternative design, I already have the shapes of the decals down so it would just be a matter of integrating the artwork you prefer.

Very cool! I may take you up on that....hopefully you didn't take my comment in a negative light - wasn't meant that way.....and good to know to the flexibility you have for decals.

#456 2 years ago

I agree conceptually Sonic - would you have a pinball instead of the bullet do you mean? Someone else on this thread mentioned a cannon I think. The gun works well as it’s the perfect shape. I’m really happy with it overall.
Mr_Tantrum is great to work with.

Anyone get any ideas on how to dress up the spinner lamp a little bit? Looks a bit cheap and nasty how it is.

Put a color changing LED in there. Is it a flasher? Alternately, you could rig up a type cover similar to the one that’s in the head of a CV.

Question:...are the balls in Safecracker smaller than regular pinballs?...I came across a website selling balls and they made a distinction for the Safecracker balls (I assume 1" vs 1 1/16), but I've never seen this printed anywhere.

It shipped with regular pinballs, but plays better with smaller size (1").

Backalley Creations made some nice ones for SC in the past, don't know if they have them still for sale..

I'm looking for a HUO SC in the southeast or would have one shipped in from a reputable seller.

#463 2 years ago

I'm thinking about buying a SC in the future. Are Paul's machined support rails un-obtainium at this point? If so can someone help me with a template or measurements to try to homebrew my own? With less than 2000 SCs in the wild, I'd feel really bad if I let one go saggy on my watch. Thanks. #safecracker

Hit him up...when I bought mine 2 years ago - he wasn't making them - but did a run when I got enough folks together to make it worthwhile...his are very well machined/engineered....

Anyone got a left slingshot plastic they could sell me?

#466 2 years ago

I just picked up a SC and the magic token mech isn't working. I have zero experience with coin mechs and would appreciate some help. When I drop a token in, it either gets hung up as shown in the third picture or drops back to the return slot.

Is it the right size token? SC had 2 different size tokens.

Hmm I'm not sure? How can I check?

That looks like the correct one to me when I compare it to mine (also red with the same markings). As far as getting it to work...I would clean it without turning any screws first. If still having problems, hopefully someone else will step in to help out.

I can tell someone has already messed with it because the glue/paint on the screws don't line up any more

Diameters are 1.175 inch (domestic) and 1.190 inch (international). Roughly the size of a half dollar (30mm). A quarter is 25mm.

What I had to do since my tokens were no longer working in my Safe Cracker. I bought a Suzo Happ mechanism : 2.00 Tooney Coin Mech -
Part #: 42-3091-100. Had to remove the metal parts from my old mechanism and transplant them onto the new mechanism I purchased since the parts on the new mechanism were plastic and did not work right. After swapping the old metal parts onto the new mechanism everything worked perfectly after finessing and adjusting. My old coin mech was so worn out and nothing worked correctly.

Hope to join the club someday. Just don’t want to join at the crazy prices machines are going for right now... if I could find one that needs mechanical and electrical work, I would be so, lucky.

Hello guys i have only one coin mechanism on my SC, who is cashflow 330. It was replaced for euros but they didn't add token. do you know a good replacement one that i can programm myself ? thanks

#488 1 year ago

I don't know coin mechs types that you can program yourself.

If you find one - the magic token has to register on channel 5.
More info how SC sees the magic tokens here:

One of my old SC’s was a pretty severe case. Here’s a before and after rail install.

Paul’s rails are the way to go. There is so much weight on the playfield that it needs more support. I’ve installed them on mine. Great product.

Quoted from Babysha:

[quoted image]

Don't go your own route - buy Paul's solution - the reason is the weight, in part - it's also because WMS made the fatal flaw of cutting the wood rails topside...take a look again and you'll go - what the heck!

Matt

#496 1 year ago

Result is very cool ! thanks guys i'm gonna check that with Paul
