I have a handful of partially used cans of Rustoleum spray paint sitting around, but I can't use any of them since the nozzles are all clogged.

I tried soaking one nozzle in a small cup of lacquer thinner and another in paint thinner, but both nozzles are still clogged and unusable.

Other than pulling a nozzle from an unused can (which I have done, but then end up with a brand new can without a nozzle), what I can I do with these clogged nozzles?

Says you should hold upside down and blast it a couple times

    That helps reduce clogging

Dunno bout the ones already clogged (I fear they're goners) but to prevent this in the future, after using a rattle-can turn it upside down and spray into the air until the mist clears. That cleans the nozzle of product for a fresh start for the next use.

Just point it away from your face.

Soak in thinner and then use a sewing needle to get gunk out.

As others have said, the upside down trick works great and you won't get clogs.

Does this work on Rustoleum paint? I've always done this and recently bought some Rustoleum. I proceeded to do this process, as I always do, and after about 10 seconds it was still spraying paint.

Actually I have had the same experience with some new products. The propellant never clears of product. However, those nozzles haven't clogged on me yet, either.

I always have cans of brake clean in my garage. I take plugged nozzles and swap them onto a can of brake clean and blast it 2 or 3 times.... clears them!... usually. If they are plugged completely... probably a gonner.

The new style nozzles don't work this way, they are auto-cleaning (supposedly). The old-style should be cleared as described above. New style on bottom, old style on top.

Here's a lifetime supply of Rustoleum replacement spray nozzles.

Just found a smaller quantity, although the price each is kind of high.
