These are easy and cheap to swap out. I've thought of doing it just because of ball tracks but same with rust I guess.

If they are already blue, it seems likely it's because rust protection is already applied:

I might try a cold-bluing cream for scratches on my flaps. I was hoping to find evidence that someone had already tried this, but this is the only post on blue steel I could find in all of pinside.
