Hi all! Long time Rush fan, drummer, sound engineer, pinhead and avid Rush fan here.
Enjoyed reading all the Rush stories in this thread, and I thought I would share a pic...
Rush was at my work several years ago to receive a "Governor general's Performing Arts Award", so our scenic shop fabbed up a Star Man for their award portion of the show... One day I saw the star man destined for the garbage bin(!) so I freaked out and said we must keep the star man! It now still hangs up stage right in Southam Hall at Canada's National Arts Centre, where I hope it remains forever.
Neil's long time drum tech was here a while ago with another act and he thought it was pretty cool!
The star man is huge, so I can't use it as a topper for my LE that is coming soon! lol
Can't wait!

Was that the one behind the children’s choir?! I was in the band that played later that night. Very cool!

yep!

Quoted from gouveia:

I thought so! My band and I were offstage right thinking how much pressure that drummer must’ve been feeling with Neil sitting out in the balcony. But he nailed the parts! I actually played later that night with Des McAnuff and Pete Townshend. Not much public video of it, but the press got a very cool pinball shot of me and Pete.

Cool man!

Quoted from SkyKing2301:

I just want them to bring back a traditional knocker. The knocker is the greatest sound in pinball; I despise the squelch. What's supposed to be such a rewarding noise, instead just makes me cringe.
(Yes, I know I can add one -- and I will.)

This. ^^^

So I went to see Rush about 10 or 11 years ago at Ottawa’s Bluesfest, and I brought my son( also a drummer and guitar player) with me for his first concert experience! As I am an audio engineer by profession, I knew the system tech for the venue, so I went to say hi before the show at FOH...( the mix position)
I had my concert stubs with me and the Moving Pictures stub had a price of $9.50! Rush’s soundman freaked when he saw my stubs and called a bunch of the other crew over to look at them... we had a good laugh, but I felt so old... lol.
My son thought it was pretty cool though...

Quoted from cait001:

here's a young band called Crown Lands with some big Rush vibes. What say you, Rush fans?

Definitely can see a Rush influence. Right down to the double neck and the Taurus pedals... amazing that the drummer is the lead vocalist! No small feat when doing drum fills all over the place! Thanks for posting that... love discovering new bands!

Probably already posted 50 times but I just finished watching it and absolutely loved it, so I’ll post it anyway just in case someone missed it

Link not working for me... is this video available in canada?

I hope the bridge/ border protests don’t affect the Canadian shipments, but they probably will.
