There was a good article that came out sometime in the 00s that talked about the 'loudness' war that the recording industry was going through in the late 90s/early 2000s. they talked about designing the sound to be listened to on ear buds and that 'loud' songs were better for radio. This ruined the sound on good audio systems as everything in the song is the same volume, no longer mixed up and down to bring forward some bits compared to others. They used Rush's Vapor Trails as a prime example. I don't know if this is the original article, but it does talk about this album.

Was watching the Pinball Network stream last night on YouTube. Man that kid can play - over a billion on his first ball ever. WTF!
Not scared of that shot, you will figure it out. You just have to get good!

To be fair, the mapper is intended to be crowd sourced so if no one in your local area is doing it, it doesn't get updated. Michigan seems to be updated fairly well. Good for you in taking the time to help other pinheads!

Quoted from Dobler:

Yeah lots of pinheads here in the Pacific Northwest so it seems like the map is fairly accurate. Regardless it has been interesting to me to watch the map and see how the machines were flowing out from Chicago to locations across the country.

yeah, we were doing that too! still mad that we are only 4 hours from Chicago and no RUSH closer than 2+ hours....

FWIW we played a Rush pro on the weekend. The place had the sound cranked up on the machine and the bass was overwhelming the stock speakers something fierce. The bass hits were obviously bottoming the speakers out and 'blatting' at us.

Quoted from Lateralus:

So, how did you like the actual gameplay?

Oh, game play was good! None of the shots were impossible to hit. The scoop would shoot it at the right lower flipper and you could easily chuck it right back in even though it's narrow. The left orbit through the pops was hittable, not impossible like some other games with that same shot. The dead end shot was a little underwhelming, but it didn't seem to ever drain STDM, fed to the right lower flipper. Prem/LE should be a lot more satisfying with the VUK. The outlanes were closed to the max and still got some Borg'd shots. Does feel like a 'best of borg' layout. Can't wait to get ours.

Code needs some polishing, some of the callouts were kind of soft and drowned out by the music. Need to understand the rules better, but I did manage a 195 Mil game on my 4th try.

Oh, the shots from the upper right were all makeable. the inner loop is interesting as it's not a Steve Ritchie loop, if finishes by hitting something, nearly stopping and feeding nicely to the upper flip.
