Final test mount on my BM66 until the pin actually arrives. Still gotta find the right lighting effect for the Starman....but it's coming together as I had envisioned!!

So stoked for this pin!!!

Quoted from Gryszzz:

AUKraut are you gonna be mass producing these for sale? Not a topper guy but that is FREAKIN AMAZING!

Thanks!! Thought about it, but RUSH & SRO are pretty protective of their copyright.....

It's all 3D printed in pieces and then put together. Many hours to print all that out, so it wouldn't be cheap!

Alright....let's talk about Mods/improvements:

1) Time Machine LEDs - as a minimum those LEDs need replaced with these from Comet: https://www.cometpinball.com/products/colored-lens-indicator-lamps . Going to use them on the scoops as well. However, I would love to see some even more interesting light possibilities.

2) Time Machine reels - Stern stickered it for now.....are real working reels a pipe dream??

3) Clockwork Angels Clock Minute hand - already scanning ebay for some possibilities....

4) Scoop Protectors - Someone get a RUSH pin to Cliffy ASAP!!

5) LE armor - Really toying with the idea of going to Brass or Antique Brass to match the Steampunk Time Machine look

6) Washing Machines, Vending Machines, steampunk ornamentation - yeah, betcha some of that will be seen soon as well

Quoted from cooked71:

Borg has a long back catalogue, there’s bound to be repeated ideas. Some of the newer designers will start rehashing ideas eventually also.

Agreed, there is only so much surface area to play with inside that cabinet!

Quoted from Rarehero:

They had a ton of hit singles. Working Man put then on the map in the US, with tons of Radio play in the Midwest. Tom Sawyer, Spirit of Radio, Closer to the Heart, Fly By Night and others were in heavy rotation on rock radio in the US.

Even as a huge RUSH fan myself I gotta disagree with this: based upon mainstream Billboard type singles they did not have many. Actually only 7 if you look at Billboard's Top 100, with the highest at 21. Yes, they are a staple of Classic Rock radio, huge number of album sales and sold out tours, but not hit singles:

Quoted from Rarehero:

Ok. Stern should cancel the game then. These stats clearly show there aren’t enough passionate Rush fans to support a pinball game, and they actually never existed. Australia is right.

Never said that either: Proclaim them for who they are, i.e. a phenomenal trio of extremely talented musicians & songwriters with a long career, large album sales, and large devoted fanbase. Don't proclaim them for something they are not: producer of a ton of hit singles. Saying they are something that they are not does not help win over people unfamiliar with the group nor explain the reason behind RUSH fans' devotion to them.

Quoted from PinMonk:

I was thinking of the times Borg has reused this basic layout (regular or mirrored) and came up with:
(left/right version is where the pop bumpers are, and designates regular or mirrored layout)
2008 Indiana Jones (Stern) - Left version (2 flipper)
2010 TRON - Right version (3 flipper)
2011 Xmen - Left Version (3 flipper)
2015 KISS - Left version (2 flipper)
2017 Aerosmith - Left Version (2 flipper - main PF)
2022 Rush - Left Version (3 flipper)
So I think TRON is the only one where he put the shot through the pop bumpers on the right. Is there any I missed?

A friend of mine RebelGuitars posted a pic on FB with a mirrored TMNT and the new RUSH Layout.....

Quoted from gandamack:

Rush was good up to Moving Pictures and then they lost me.

Your feelings there are actually not uncommon. Rush did have many different phases they went thru, and depending on the listener some more popular than others. I have several later albums I’m not fond of either. I will say this to all you Terry Brown era Rush fans: listen to 2 of their later albums, Vapor Trails (look for the remixed version) and especially Clockwork Angels. I put Clockwork Angels up there with any of the Terry Brown era albums, and the song Headlong Flight is in my Top 5 ever for them.

What are y'all hearing on delivery dates of the 1st run Pros and then LEs??

#2795 2 years ago
Quoted from Vespula:

That video may have been a different pin / different code? No expression lighting.

The Dead Flip stream showed a Premium with the lighting upgraded. Only the LEs come with Expression Lighting standard for RUSH.

#2867 2 years ago
Quoted from GravitaR:

The modes are NOT timed.

Quoted from TomGWI:

The modes on Rush are NOT TIMED!!!

Exactly! Tim specific mentioned that none of the modes were timed during the Dead Flip stream.

#2912 2 years ago

Watching DF's stream from last night, Jack gets Headlong Flight Multiball. Clockwork Angels clock graphic comes up on the screen, and the clock stops at 915....Arrggh!!!! Should be 912...i.e. or 2112 in 24hour time...just like the Album cover! Please someone let Tim or Ray know!!

Quoted from Coyohtay:

There was a good article that came out sometime in the 00s that talked about the 'loudness' war that the recording industry was going through in the late 90s/early 2000s. they talked about designing the sound to be listened to on ear buds and that 'loud' songs were better for radio. This ruined the sound on good audio systems as everything in the song is the same volume, no longer moved up and down to bring forward some bits compared to others. They used Rush's Vapor Trails as a prime example. I don't know if this is the original article, but it does talk about this album.
https://www.soundporter.com/post/the-loudness-wars-and-what-i-ve-learned

I still remember Alex himself getting on social media to try to minimize the sound issues with the original release of Vapor Trails, saying it sounded exactly as he wanted. The out of nowhere, years later, a remix is issued addressing the issues, and this time Alex came back saying he recently had realized how overcooked the mixing was on the release, thus the remix edition (which IMO sounds so much better!!).

Here's a couple more armor colors for RUSH LE people wanted to see:[quoted image][quoted image]

Seriously think that a brass/copper metallic is the only appropriate finish for RUSH LE armor.....

Quoted from Rarehero:

For years Lyman was on my ass to listen to some of the later Rush albums that I kept procrastinating about - so, today I FINALLY started on Clockwork Angels. I’m 9 songs in, and to be honest, it’s kind of forgettable. Kinda mellow actually. I mean, it’s fine - I just haven’t heard a really addictive tune yet like the Rush songs I already know and love.

Quoted from j_m_:

snakes & arrows was like that for me initially but about 5 years ago I gave it another listen and really like 'far cry', 'armor & sword', 'spindrift', and 'hope'
on clockwork angels; 'caravan', 'the anarchist', 'the wreckers', and 'headlong flight' are good jams

Headlong Flight, at full volume with a good set of headphones or speakers......RUSH jamming at it's finest!!!

#3478 2 years ago
Quoted from Rodent:

streaming Vapor Trails for a first listen ... how did I miss this incredible release? given the previously mentioned posts, I found the remix version. only three tracks in and this is quickly becoming one of my top 5 fav releases
combine this with a sprinkling of reports from those who've had chance to play a game out in the wild, and I'm more excited than ever for my Prem arriving when it does (April target)

It is an awesome album, their comeback after their hiatus. The remix is awesome!!

#3503 2 years ago
Quoted from Hayfarmer:

Thinkin about when game arrives, what's your first game playing to? I cant get the opening of The Spirit Of Radio out of my mind, so I'll be cranking it. Anyone else?

The Spirit of Radio....no doubt!! It is *THE* opening song! They've tried others over the years, but nothing gets that blood pumping more at a concert, including the first one I saw in 1983!

#3580 2 years ago
Quoted from Gryszzz:

Man Headlong Flight is REALLY growing on me.
That goddamn bassline is DD's!

Quoted from Gryszzz:

HOLY HECK HEADLONG FLIGHT RULES VERY FUCKING HARD

Told ya!!! It's their best all out jam....bar none!!!

Quoted from Dobler:

This will be nice next to my Rush Pro when it comes in. Not sure when I bought this (wasn’t ‘83 for sure) but it’s one of my favorite posters.
[quoted image]

I had that poster, bought it in May 83 when I saw them in Heidelberg Germany for my first RUSH concert. Disappeared a few years later when my parents moved after I had gone stateside to go to college. Wish I still had it!!!

Quoted from kool1:

Saw this schedule in the Stern on the line thread>>
Feb 2022 - Rush LE & Premium
Feb 2022 - Mando Pro & Premium
Mar 2022 - Godzilla Pro & Premium
Mar 2022 - AIQ Pro & Premium
Apr 2022 - Rush Pro & Premium
Apr 2022 - JP Pro & Premium
May 2022 - Godzilla Pro & Premium
July 2022 - Deadpool Pro & Premium
July 2022 - Godzilla Pro & Premium
Aug 2022 - Star Wars Pro & Premium (original art package)
Sep 2022 - Star Wars the pin (original & comic art)
Oct 2022 - JP the pin
Nov 2022 - Elvira Premium
Dec 2022 - TMNT Pro & Premium

The two things missing on this list:

1) New releases and how they push things down the schedule
2) Differing demands for titles and what to fill the production line with (no way that they are only running JP home models only in October)

#4172 2 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

well the list isn't saying that is ALL they are building Obviously they don't list future titles and never have. You also don't have any visibility into how much of each title they are doing. This is simply a timeline for games Stern has already announced.

Agreed, which is why I pointed them out so that people, especially newbies, take all these "schedules" with a big grain of salt (with that grain being the size of Gibraltar.....)

So this just popped up on my FB timeline: 10 years ago I took my then 13 year old son to his only RUSH concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, who at the time was also very much into Legos. The day after the concert this happened:

Quoted from kool1:

Better deals at shows?

Yep, Stern allows new promo games that are sold at shows to be sold at a reduced price compared to MSRP. Depending on the show they will have around 300-500 plays on them. I have several friends who have bought pins that way.

Quoted from fooflighter:

Just got to play a Premium Rush...man what a great game. Tons of flow and shots that feel really good. Great work on the entire package. That ramp to the magnet is super cool with great sound effects to go with. Impressive callouts, display, pretty much everything. Borg and team really nailed this one

Agree 100%....and just wait until you install expression lights!!!!
