Crue is great! Wait… its still 1988, correct?
Quoted from Jaybird815:
Crue is currently more popular than Rush, according to sales/downloads. I don’t really care much for either though. But like Rarehero was saying popularity doesn’t always equate to pin sales.
Or ‘great music’ for that matter - they were one of my favorites when I was in high school, but these days they get a quick channel change from me.
Quoted from Rarehero:
It’s cool to not like a band. It’s ignorant to dismiss the success of Rush, their influence, and their fans.
But… so what? I have zero problem understanding that many people can’t stand Rush. I personally think they have bad taste in music, and will often say so…but at the end of the day I don’t really care.
I guess I just don’t find myself on a crusade looking to evangelize people about it, or ‘demand respect’ for them. They don’t need anyone to do so.
I just don’t get it I guess.
Quoted from beelzeboob:
Yeah, but most Crue fans don't make enough money to buy a pinball machine. They're too busy eating corndogs at state fairs while they follow the Crue and Def Leppard around the country. Rush fans all went into nerdy IT jobs and are loaded...especially since there are no concert tickets to spend money on anymore.
Now that is some quality humor.
Quoted from Raegor:
Crue all day but it can't be PG.
If I'm in "Girls, Girls, Girls" multiball I better see some hotties on screen.
Crue was the epidemy of sex, drugs, and rock n roll. If you take out the sex and drugs it's not the Crue...
This quote defines this whole thread for me - one might say it is the epitome of this thread.
I feel like I am in an episode of a television program about my experiences from junior high right now… and someone is about to get a swirlie.
Quoted from TomGWI:
These GnR fans really hate the Crue: https://www.mygnrforum.com/topic/189131-anyone-else-think-motley-crue-suck/
Reading the replies though… ha. Can’t help but be reminded a bit of the classic Ford and Chevy arguments.
Also, a number of the comments were along the lines of “But Dr. Feelgood is great” - which is as problematic as “Metallica’s Black Album is great” (as both are exactly when both bands became mediocre overproduced pedestrian pop trash).
Rush is right. Thats all I have to say about that.
