RUSH Steampunk Gear Flasher Covers (set or individual) are now available for preorder in my Pinside shop:
Quoted from tripp:These look great! I tried to pre-order, but it looks like the pre-order button isn't working...
Hmmm...see if it works now!
Quoted from tripp:Yep!
Do I need to order red flasher covers to go inside?
No, these mount over the existing covers, no permanent modification needed.
RUSH Steampunk Gear Flasher Covers update:
The printer is going non-stop and will have some orders ready to ship tomorrow....I'll send a PM out as I process thru the orders as received.
At the suggestion of Pinsider and fellow RUSH fan Hayfarmer I'm now making a 6th design available: Bones!! I've attached the CAD Drawings for it. Getting these ready ASAP as well. I will offer any of the preorders the opportunity to swap one of the original 5 for the Bones design if you so desire, I'll give you that opportunity when the time comes.
Quoted from Shapeshifter:Anyone making something to cover the time machine leds?
...got some ideas on this one as well, although I'm going to wait to get my LE first so that clearances can be checked. I'm still working on that as well as a few other designs coming soon!!

Alright.... Bones has joined the set of the 5 Gear Covers. At this point based upon logistics, response from buyers, and getting caught up with pre-orders from here forward I've dropped the "3" cover and use the "Bones" cover going forward. This includes all existing preorders! Due to the intricacies of the print looks like it will be about 2 orders a day pace catching up with preorders, so at this point I hope to be caught up by this time next week.
Quoted from Jamesays:keep us in the loop ,Whats everyone doing to mod the 3 lights on the time machine ??
So far I'm starting with the colored dome lamps that Comet now sells to replace all exposed LED bulbs. The Time Machine may have clearance issues as well, so once they start arriving maybe some more ideas will flow.....
...wiping off the egg that's on my face!!
Well, apparently my counting skills are NOT what they used to be, must be due to listening to too much Granddad rock!!
As Pinball-Ike pointed out there are 6 (not 5) red flasher domes on the RUSH pinball machine.........
So, the numeral 3 is back in the set of now 6 covers, as it should be as it was featured that way on the Time Machine tour cover.
Everybody that preordered the set as a set of 5 will receive the full set of 6!! On me, my screw-up!!
I have updated the Pinside ad, so we should be good going forward!
Sorry about the confusion I caused!!
42B6D7BC-20E7-4E4A-9159-5A755F2C2019_1_201_a (resized).jpegSteampunk Gear Flasher covers update: 7 sets have been shipped, 2 more are ready to go, and more in the pipeline! Thanks for everyones patience!! Hope to get caught up by the middle of next week!
Also hope to have another prototype to show....want to get caught up on the gear flasher covers first!!
Quoted from Hayfarmer:Excellent quality, Thanks !!![quoted image][quoted image]
Quoted from Jamesays:Nice to see the U S Mail could get a stage coach out to your neck of the woods.
Awesome!! Glad you like them!
I'm impressed that a First Class Package got cross-country from Alabama to Washington in 3 days!!
Quoted from upsfeedr:Anyone know if this Apron will be available to buy? I like this one better for my Pro that im getting.. Sorry if its a stupid Question
Really want the LE Version
[quoted image]
Based upon the lack of Expression Lighting that looks like a Premium apron, which would be available from Stern. Stern NEVER sells LE parts without verification that the owner has an actual LE.
My latest RUSH mod prototypes are ready to be shared:
RUSH Roll The Bones Flasher Dome Replacement Set
...That's the way that Lady Luck dances...Roll the bones!
Highlight your RUSH Pinball Machine's Roll The Bones inlanes with this RUSH Flasher Dome Replacement Set. These Dice are meant to fully replace the factory flasher domes. Sold as a set of two.
...and yes, the dice are loaded so you can only roll a 3!!!
These are available for preorder in my shop, will begin shipping next week!
-----
RUSH Borough of Shmeng Water Department Fire Hydrant Flasher Dome Replacement
The Borough of Shmeng Water Department Hydrant is used all around Lerxstwood Mall and nearby Subdivisions!!! Add one to your RUSH Pinball Machine to replace a factory flasher dome.
A few prototype pictures are shown, however I will NOT be putting these up for sale at this point as I do not have access to a RUSH pin at this point. I want to make sure there is enough clearance since it is taller than a factory flasher. Once clearance has been confirmed and any needed adjustments are made these will be for sale in my Pinside shop as well.
I've also got a second 3D Printer on order to keep up with demand and I also hope to expand these replacement flasher domes to other pins as well in the future...as well as other RUSH mods as well!!

Quoted from Jamesays:Nice Dice, too bad I already bought 6 of your last flasher mods.
Yeah, sometimes things come together one after the other. I like both of them and will have a combo on my pin.....
Quoted from pinballjah:You could probably sell quite a few of the dice for the Aerosmith pin. Can't remember how many flashers it has?
Great observation!!! Yeah, it has 4 flashers, including one up top by a dice plastic.....Thanks for the tip!!
Quoted from Jamesays:will they be avaialble in other colors ?white looks great.
Maybe later once my second printer I've ordered arrives. Takes a bit of testing in finding a good filament that isn't too transparent or too opaque. Still not 100% happy with the Red on the Hydrant, as most "transparent" reds are too far onto the rose/pink side...
Quoted from Apollo18:My sentiments exactly.
I want that dice for my Aerosmith!
And I still love the set I ordered from you for Rush.
Dice, hydrant and all look great.
Once for sale I’m definitely getting those as well.
Preorders for the Dice are already up in my shop, and first sets should go out Tuesday at the latest!
Quoted from pinballjah:Very confusing, there are two people selling these covers? In case some people get confused on what they want to order. Thanks.
Similar concept, but different.
tdiddy's are modeled after Neil's drum kit with rounded edges and a unique gear center. He uses resin based printing with custom paint.
Mine are modeled to resemble a squirrel-cage gear to match the steampunk look with 6 different Rush related center logos. I use a metallic copper silk filament.
Both feature the alchemy clock symbols around the upper edge.
Quoted from bestbrad:Is anyone working on a mod to cover the bare bulbs on top of the time machine?
Been thinking about it, its a tricky one for sure with limited space to the glass...
First thing that I'll do to mine is put these in for the interim on all exposed bulbs:

Screen Shot 2022-01-30 at 15.32.21 (resized).pngQuoted from Apollo18:Brilliant!
I’ve been wondering if I should open a new thread. Because I’ve been looking at the wiz mod aprons and trying to decide whether to cover IC or whether it will actually be used and useful??
You seem to have a logical solution.
This IC mod started in the Pinside 3D printing thread, including the guys who put it together.......
Quoted from Photopin:Is it my imagination or has the price already shot up on some of these mods?
Not mine, only change was when I expanded the Steampunk Gear Cover Set from 5 to 6 pieces in the set, so the price of the set went up proportionately.
All of mine are now in stock and ready to ship. The Borough of Shmeng Water Hydrant is waiting for fitment on an actual pin before I put it up for sale.
Quoted from j_m_:speaking of which. were you still planning on offering different covers from the initial 5/6? I know that we chatted briefly in pm's about some other suggestions that I presented to you
Yes, now that I'm starting to catch up again both with the backorders of these mods and my real job I was going to explore a couple more ideas, including yours. Some will be tough to do right, as there really isn't enough surface area to show the amount of detail needed for it to look right. The 2 tumbling dice I originally created is a perfect example, as the detail gets lost in the small size...I hated to scrap that idea, but ended up with the one big die that came out looking great..
218D93CD-8FB2-4170-ADED-687D83C20824 (resized).jpegQuoted from pinballjah:Couple suggestions now that I have them installed. I think they likely need to be attached somehow to the flashers. They do tend to turn during game play. Also, when you raise the playfield, you have to remove the four not below any existing plastics. Do look great on the game. Look like they came with the game really.
I included clear double sided tape with every set....did I miss yours by mistake??
Finally got my hands on a RUSH Pro at our local league location last night, they got a free mod install of the Steampunk Gear Covers. I hope I don't wrench my shoulder patting myself on the back, but they look fantastic on there!! Flasher is still visible, yet no longer blinding, and the Copper blends perfectly with the plastics!! I've attached some pics of them installed.
I also got an opportunity to test fit the Borough of Shmeng Water Department Hydrant...about 5-6 mm too tall, printing another shorter version and will test that one tomorrow evening.
Hoping that by next weekend my LE will be here, they I can play with some more ideas I've had..y'all stay tuned!!

The Ninjas are pretty but since Rush is a magnet game the Ninjas are prone to get magnetized faster than carbon steel. The Amazon balls are ball bearings, they might be prone to rusting quicker, Flitz them for protection if you use them. I use Flitz on the Stern ones that come with the game too, some times they can be dirty/oily. Carbon Steel pinballs are the best for a magnet game. There are many vendors that sell them. Pinball Life or Pinball Resource are common choices for me. Just my two cents.
Keep in mind that Ballbaron also sells a carbon steel POLARIS. It's been my all-around go to for ANY pin the last few years and does great in pins with or without magnets. Buying them in bulk from Ballbaron also saves some change.
Got some Bones installed on the slingshots of my LE. Pics attached show them off/on with the room lighting off/on, as well as a link to a quick video of them. They are available in my Pinside store:

New RUSH Mod!!!
RUSH Steampunk Gears Drumstick Mounts now available for pre-order in my Pinside Shop!! Will begin shipping by the weekend!!
Add a great custom touch to your RUSH pinball machine by showing off your Neil Peart ProMark PW747W drumsticks with these custom 3D printed Drumstick mounts, printed in a copper metallic sheen. Specifically designed for 14mm diameter drumsticks, these mounts attach to your RUSH pinball machine with existing hardware. Simply remove 2 screws & washers on the left flasher plastic, orient and attach the 2 holders with screws and washers. Carefully slide the drumsticks into place by holding the mount rings and sliding the drumsticks in from the bottom towards the top of the playfield, sliding up far enough to clear the glass channel. The mounts have a nice snug fit to hold the drumsticks securely.
Please note that you are only purchasing a set of 2 mounts. The drumsticks themselves are NOT included! They are available from many online sources, including Amazon, eBay, and many online music stores. The mount was designed specifically for:

with these tests completed, I'll post again once I'm ready to start taking orders.
If you can customize like that I’m definitely in!
Quoted from pinballjah:Can’t believe Rush had fans in Alabama back in 1979
Seriously…. I thought I was the only RUSH fan when I moved to Alabama in 1983. Turns out rural Alabama hadn't heard of RUSH, but the college towns had plenty!!!
Quoted from PinBalt:Hi. Is anyone out there planning to address the weak white led lights on the TimeMachine, scoops ? I hate that they are using a white opaque bulb with weak color. Reminds me of the poor Gemstones in the Infinity Gauntlet.
For now I’ve added Comet color lens LEDS
54A52DD0-21DB-4715-8BCC-42F1C0BC48DF (resized).jpegQuoted from Hayfarmer:And what are you working on?
That Time Machine will be a tough nut to crack to make look right......I'd love to see someone put a LCD in place of those reels!!!
New in my Pinside shop:
From the (not-so) brilliant mind of Slobovich, Music Agent for RASH, comes the world's greatest musical invention: The GeFilter!!! A wondrous Time Machine to transport your musicians across the spectrum of Time!!!
The GeFilter plate is multi-color 3D printed and backed with magnetic strips for easy mounting and removal.
Two versions are available: Standard and LE.
The Standard version features the GeFilter logo on a black backing plate.
The LE version can be personalized to match the number for your RUSH LE pinball. Once your order for an LE version is placed I will reach out and contact you to get your desired number. Then your LE version will be custom made. Due to the custom versions being made to order please allow a few days for these to ship.

Any existing orders have had overages refunded.......sorry about that!!
Quoted from swampfire:The new SJP sign looks great, but I prefer the stock Time Machine.
Agreed, the roman clockface around the hole doesn't match the theme....
Quoted from Tmezel:Modified the design! Both the fascade and lights.[quoted image]
Big improvement!!
Quoted from John_I:Putting the finishing touches on the time machine vacuum tube mod. Designed a base to sort of tie all the lights together visually, but also help hold the lights up straight. The sockets like to lean all over the place otherwise!
Just need to test some new LEDs to make them brighter. I wasn't happy with the brightness before. Also deciding whether to offer them in red, green and orange filaments like my factory lights, or all orange/gold, or a choice of one or the other.
Getting really close to shopping, but this is still a prototype in the picture. [quoted image]
Awesome and perfect as is!! I'm in!!
Quoted from TinyBlackDog:All of the Pros and Premiums on the TPF show floor have the blue sandwich protectors. There have to be at least a dozen of them. JJ from GEX has a Premium in his suite that just has the forks. Not sure if these are being put on at the factory yet. Of course, the factory has shifted to other titles now so it doesn’t really matter until the next run.
I hear that Rush is in the Wizards tournament - curious how they toughened it up for tournament play.
TPF Wizards Rush Premium Settings
Code 0.91 Competition Install; of note to qualify MB's
Time Machine MB: Medium (10 hits), 2-ball MB
Freewill MB: Medium (2 Instrument sets)
Far Cry MB: Medium (Standups > Timed R ramp > lock in Side scoop), 2-ball MB
Outlanes posts raised and rubber removed.
…and by the way I played there had to have been outlane magnets installed as well!
Quoted from Schwaggs:I took a look at the 5th plastic that is in other sets and it is the plastic that is along the side of the game, above the pops. It is under the drum on the Prem/LE which means you can’t even see it. Plus it looks like it would take over an hour to install with all the parts that would need to be removed and replaced to get at it. It looks like the person that designed that kit did so on the Pro (also what the pictures look like).
For that reason, I don’t think it makes any sense to include it for the Prem/LE customers. What do you guys think?
[quoted image]
That clock comes off fairly quick. 3-4 screws and a connector underneath. 15 minutes tops…..
Quoted from Lermods:That super jackpot sign has to go, or at least the bulb does, it flashes right in your eyes and sticks out like a sore thumb. I don’t know what to do about it, have to think of something. Maybe some kind of cover.
Also, who is making the steam punk flasher dome covers? Whoever is, pm me and maybe we could trade mods, always like doing that.
PM sent....
