Quoted from j_m_:

I'm still working on templates. all sales will go through John I (unless he doesn't want to handle them). this was *his* mod to begin and I am not going to attempt to steal away any of his potential sales

J_M_ has my full blessing to make these custom magnets! I don't have a lot of time for pinball mod development right now due to my day job and some personal matters. This is too good an idea to go to waste. In fact I might buy one myself. I think the last time I saw Rush was the Roll the Bones tour in the Orlando Arena.

I do plan a purple magnet with Toronto venue and R40 date to match the Premiums a little better. Also, a small run of Mandalorian since I just got one with factory IC sticker to cover!

Got some Bones installed on the slingshots of my LE. Pics attached show them off/on with the room lighting off/on, as well as a link to a quick video of them. They are available in my Pinside store:

everything on the ticket can be modified (including the ticket color), but here's a sample with the different tour fonts that look pretty good on the tickets
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I know this is a stretch but here goes…
Is there any way to modify the ticket to reflect the old “Ticketron” color fade from the 80’s? Their ticket layout was pretty iconic with a full color spectrum fade (before Ticketmaster took over). Here are a couple stubs. First image shows a complete unused ticket; second one shows a later version where the silhouettes were eliminated.

Yeah, you could do it pretty easily. I mocked this up in about 5 minutes. It would take time to fine-tune it, mute the colors, get the white ticketron logo cleaner with no outline, etc and the part on the right I didn't do would take a while, but it's possible.

Dice look great!

I'm going to add my Presto and Signals mods first and see how it looks. I don't want the playfield to get to busy and cluttered.

New RUSH Mod!!!

RUSH Steampunk Gears Drumstick Mounts now available for pre-order in my Pinside Shop!! Will begin shipping by the weekend!!

Add a great custom touch to your RUSH pinball machine by showing off your Neil Peart ProMark PW747W drumsticks with these custom 3D printed Drumstick mounts, printed in a copper metallic sheen. Specifically designed for 14mm diameter drumsticks, these mounts attach to your RUSH pinball machine with existing hardware. Simply remove 2 screws & washers on the left flasher plastic, orient and attach the 2 holders with screws and washers. Carefully slide the drumsticks into place by holding the mount rings and sliding the drumsticks in from the bottom towards the top of the playfield, sliding up far enough to clear the glass channel. The mounts have a nice snug fit to hold the drumsticks securely.

Please note that you are only purchasing a set of 2 mounts. The drumsticks themselves are NOT included! They are available from many online sources, including Amazon, eBay, and many online music stores. The mount was designed specifically for:

Rush will be sounding better this weekend
[quoted image]

Do they make these in mono? Subwoofers don't need to be in stereo and I'd like to connect 2 machines to my subwoofer. I'm having more and more issues (with Spike) with using alligator clips going to the cabinet speaker and out to an external sub.

Quoted from netman63129:

rumor has it that stern is putting one out

.
in other news, I should have the flexible magnet backing for the custom concert tickets tomorrow. I'll perform a couple tests and will then be able to start cracking them out. initially, I just have the one design available but can offer it in a variety of colors, with the date, venue, pricing, seating information of your choice.

I'm going to start working on creating a few other designs like the ticket master and ticketron samples that Tortfesor provided above but they make take some time to complete. I will probably ship these in small, flat rate boxes to avoid potential damage by the samsonite gorillas employed by usps

I'm going to shoot to keep pricing close to what John_I was offering his mod at ($12-13 per ticket plus shipping)

#414 2 years ago

the magnet stock showed up early. here is an early test

D75C00BE-DF24-4A63-9CE4-A94814DE9B5C (resized).jpegD75C00BE-DF24-4A63-9CE4-A94814DE9B5C (resized).jpeg

I’m going to look into a vinyl label stock to print to. I’m not a fan of using paper (like this test) for durability

additionally, the adhesive on the magnet is strong, so you only get one shot at putting the image down (notice the crinkle in the upper left corner)

I also may start from scratch and make the ticket a bit larger. it looks fine in the photo, but when you actually see it, it looks kind of small

Quoted from ian866:

as noted above, I have full control over all of the content, color of the ticket, and bookend images. all you have to do is give me the details that you want displayed on the magnet.
with these tests completed, I'll post again once I'm ready to start taking orders.

#423 2 years ago

one final note:
I wasn't happy with how thick the magnetic strip material was, so I ordered some new material which is half the thickness. I will have that in approximately 7-10 days.

John_I messaged me and detailed his method for shipping his ticket mods out, so I will probably adopt his (or a similar) method which should help lower the shipping costs for our canadian and international neighbors

#424 2 years ago
Quoted from j_m_:

been working with john to make these a bit more customizable for people. I've found about 3 ticket designs that I will work nicely and with the option to change just about anything on the ticket face itself, will make the magnet cover-up a bit more personnel and meaningful like the first/last tour that you saw them
here's a sample, completely re-done with a different ticket color. some of the fonts are close but not quite perfect. I'm still searching to find replacements that are closer to what was originally on that reference ticket
[quoted image]
as for the flexibility portion, here's an earlier version of the same ticket but with a different font (a farewell to kings tour). ignore the fact that the rest of the information is the same for now
[quoted image]
I have fonts to cover basically every tour, however some do not lend themselves to print on the ticket very well. this ticket design may look good in a yellow (gold), blue, red, or purple

I have a few ragged ticket stubs to share if that helps. I'd love to get one made using either the 1979 "2112" ticket or the 1981 "Moving Pictures" ticket. I can provide higher res scans upon request.

Can’t believe Rush had fans in Alabama back in 1979

Amazing you have those. I was only able to find my stubs from the 2000's. I know I kept them but just can't find the older ones.

Seriously…. I thought I was the only RUSH fan when I moved to Alabama in 1983. Turns out rural Alabama hadn't heard of RUSH, but the college towns had plenty!!!

I put this in the owners thread by accident, but here’s my ticket. It looks great.

Even though there are no Counterparts songs I would still like and nut and bolt mod too.

Interesting
I’m a fan of 40 years and that’s a good album but not top 5 for me!
Anyway, I still like it because I like everything RUSH

I know someone posted a nut and bolt overlay for the under playfield ball capture.
I’m thinking that should be two dice though

#440 2 years ago

ok, I lied. I said that I wouldn't post these again until I was ready to sell them, but since the magnetic strips will not arrive until next week (at the earliest) and amazon destroyed the vinyl decal sheets that I received today, I spent some time modifying the layouts just a bit more.

I think that like the 2112 starman, I will make all of the iconography 2-colors (still trying to figure out what I want to do there). additionally, if I can find icon imagery that I like, I will make use of it and offer it up.

I use iscored also! If im hosting a large gathering or tournament, I'll have that up on the TV, but otherwise the ol' markerboard makes for quick & easy reference for anyone looking to land on it.

I have five spots for each member of the family (since we play the most, nice to have our top 5) hence the different color groups(which align with our pictures in the leftmost column). The bottom 10 rows (out of view in the pic) are for the top 10 guests. Then I place the colored chips numbered 1-4 at the 4 highest players to make them easier to find.
