For anyone wondering: I am the guy who supplies the frames for Germany. After being contacted by mitch1985 I also supplied a frame for him. And yes, shipping is quite expenive due to the size (70cm wide), but then again it is DHL and should arrive quickly and safely.

I am not able to provide individual frames for anyone else for the next 2-3 months as I am busy with "the German ripoff" of this clock as it has been called. I am not the producer of said item but will provide the frame and a few additional parts.

I am, however, willing to do a bulk oder of the frame, e.g. to limpan or anyone in the states, in order to save shipping costs.

In addition to anything else I am incredibly busy due to work for the next few weeks, so I might not be able to respond to PMs in a timely fashion, or to read up on everything here.

Keep in mind. If anyone is interested in organizing a bulk order of frames to anywhere in the world then please feel free to contact me. And by bulk i mean a very conservative 3 and more.

Just to inform you "tons of extra costs" would be about 6$ per piece for an order of 15. Just saying. I know it is not rocket science, but then again the RunDMD controller isn't either, depending on your skills. But I guess you've got Aurich who can help you with that. I just happend to be "that guy" for Germany.

Please do not take this the wrong way, as the RunDMD is a pretty cool idea and I really do not want to look condescending. Thorbjörn (the guy who makes the boards) seems to be a nice guy to deal with and I wish him all the best with his project. I hope limpan does not resort to too much bashing of our "German ripoff" as it already has a bunch of features that the RunDMD is lacking In addition to that it will be a project for the German pinball community that we do in our spare time without the goal of making more than just a slight profit, so we are not looking to international.

You guys can either figure it out on your own or ask FrancoB form arcadeotaku. He initially offered to give out the files for free but then did a full 180° and requested 100GBP (=150$) for the files. Of course this happened after a batch was ordered from Thorbjörn, so something along the "Well, now that you have placed your order I like to change my conditions". Not such a pleasant chap to work with.

@limpan: If you are interested I can provide you with my frame CAD files for a RunDMD board as "compensation for my troubles". You can then offer them to all your customers for free, so they are able to make the frames when and where they want to. I guess that would be a service to increase sales quite a bit
I made two versions, one with and one without parts to cover the sides. The power supply can be embedded in the back of the case eliminating the need for a special 5V extension cord. Even though the manual does state that the dual-color LED panels should not be run at full brightness this poses no problem when the power supply is directly attached to the panels/controller board.

Apparently acrylics is cheaper in the US than here in Germany. 5-7$ worth of plexi does not even buy you the front piece here. It was just an offer and, to be honest, I am kind of happy that my services are not desired here as I do not really have the time to do it and, believe me or not, I am not really making a significant profit on the frames. On a side note it would be nice to know about the prices for acrylics in the US. Here 5mm (=1/5 inch) is about 90$/m² or ~9$/sqft. If any of the guys working with acrylics could comment on that I would be thankful.

@limpan: It was not my intention to bash your product or mention anything else here, and I will not do so in the future. If you guys decide to do your own frames then there is not much I can contribute here anyway. I wish you the best of luck.
