Rule of thumb for power flow through Gottlieb 5195 coil diode?

Hey all,

Granted, coils themselves don't necessarily have Polarity, but the diodes most certainly do.

As you can see, from my photo of the coil for my Gottlieb Big Hurt right Kicker/slingshot, these particular coils use a 1N4004 diode.

My question is, is there any rule of thumb for power flow through this setup? That is, positive going into the unbanded side of the diode, and negative side flowing away?

Juts looking at a different way of learning....

Update.... Here's was I was able to discern from the schematics.... Look right?
