Hoping for some guidance on where to check next here as I have not ran into this issue before.

Royal Rumble DMD boots to a full orange display. Couldn't quite capture it with the camera but the whole display is lit orange. I reseated all ribbon cables and no change. Bad ribbon cable? Voltage issue? Was hoping if anyone has seen this before they can suggest what might be a root cause to check out. Thanks!

I swapped ribbon cables with my known working ones for JP and ruled that out...no change unfortunately. Any one out there have any suggestions?

Looks like a potential for the DMD controller or the DMD itself. You can move over the JP DMD controller board easily enough to try it. No need to swap the display ROM, as it would just show some wrong animations. I would even try WWFRR DMD controller board in JP to verify the problem moves with the board.

If I don't swap the rom, I assume something will still display on the game?

Yes. As I mentioned, some wrong animations will show. You will also see some longer periods of blank screens because it may be trying to recall something from an address out of the display ROM that may have a blank space.

If the problem moves with the DMD controller board, then you can swap display ROMs at that time to prove it/rule it out.

I have even seen a DMD cause this same issue. Mostly has been a DMD controller failure. It is also the easiest to swap. Could even be a chance the problem is on the CPU board.

Rock on, appreciation the thoughts. I'll give it a switch and see where we end up from there!
