So I am probably missing something simple. Major repair on this game and down to the last couple of issues. This one has me stumped as when you start a new ball, if it scores points from the pop bumper, roll over target, or any switch behind a rubber, drop targets score normally. If on the fairly rare occasion the ball gets to a flipper without scoring any points, when you flip at and hit a drop target, it scores no points. The score motor turns, the x relay pulls in, but the point relay doesn't fire.

"Drop Targets score hole point value" Is there a value if nothing is hit prior to the drop?

Don’t quite understand the question. But any point scoring feature, pop bumpers etc, score normally. As does a drop target. But if drop targets are hit and drop before any other feature is hit, the drops don’t score. Even if you hit two or more.

Card Whiz has a switch in the trough that resets the drops as the ball exits to the shooter lane. Is that happening here?

Yes drops are resetting. But PROGRESS After letting it sit overnight. Now the drops are never scoring. Which actually is probably a good thing because it’s easier to trace than an intermittent problem.

there is a first ball relay that closes with scoring points. a quick check of the diagram will tell you if there is any involvement of the 1st ball relay (U?) in drop target scoring

Thanks will check. Also found drop target scores go through the hole relay. And noticed that the hole doesn’t score when
it’s only 100 points. When purple joker is hit, will score 200 pats. When purple and white, will score 300 pats, when all three jokers have been hit hole switch will score 400 properly. So pulling the hole relay and checking contacts there is my next step.

First ball relay doesn’t pull when hole or drop switches triggered. Does with any other point scoring switch on pf. But wouldn’t that be because the m relay doesn’t fire?

Good news problem solved it was one of the switches on the score motor. But since I adjusted and cleaned all four switches in the motor 1A to G relay sequence all at once not sure which one.

Bad news. In messing with the score motor switches caused a couple new problems. Will re-post if can’t get those solved.
