whats different from yours to others? in 2009 I installed another button on the coin door on my '73 Gottlieb to get free credits, but only using the right side coin system. it works perfectly.... But how did they make it free play on your Royal Flush?

You short out one switch for free play. Look for a normally open switch that is bent closed...

Clay also hosts "Pinball Ninja" where up to this date he has documented repairs on over 700 games. Sign up and he requires a small donation to join - well worth the money.

true dat... the "free" guides are great, and reading them over and over is how i learned the basics... but the "ninja" site is even better, as it's machine/repair specific...

How do you sign up and donate to pinball ninja. Alls i get at pinball ninja is a sign in screen and no place to register.

Here is Clay's e-mail below. Just tell him you want to sign up for pinballninja. He is a busy guy right now with everything he's done in the past (pinrepair & pinballninja). Lately, he's partnered with Steve in bgresto and he's transforming a VFW hall into a pinball museum to house his collection. Needless to say have a little patience when you e-mail him.

Looked at the credit unit last night. Indeed the inner switch was closed for free play. Only thing is I set switches back to the way they are suppose to be and machine wont start. Will only stRt if that inner switch is closed. Checked wiring and doesnt look like anything was hacked. Only wire changed was door switch was wired together which should not affect start. Looking to see if anyone can snap a pic of their 4 player Gottlieb credit unit wiring so I can compare to see if anything was changed. Thanks again

you do have credits on the machine, correct?

Yes. Even when credits are added then the start button is pressed machine is dead. I think they messed with credit unit wires. There are some solid blue wires that dont look like they belong. Will have to troubleshoot when I get home this weekend.
