This is fun

AFM vs STh is interesting... they are so similar.

#4 1 year ago

Metallica over monster bash I think, maybe stranger things upsets afm, I voted afm tho

#5 1 year ago

Stranger Things always felt like a clunkier AFM to me, plus it can't hold a candle to AFM's callouts and overall vibe. AFM wins it easy for me, despite having less code depth.

#6 1 year ago

Metallica vs. Monster Bash was my tough one. Each has its charms, each has sorta grindy one-dimensional gameplay UNTIL you get over the hump to crank it up modes. Those push Metallica over the top for me.

Dinner time bump.

Clunkier is an understatement.

For sure the hardest match-up. CIU are for sure better....but the charm might make me pick MB

#9 1 year ago

Agree that the closest matchup is MET vs MB. Metallica is deeper, but Monster Bash is a bit more fun to play. And there's Lyman's Lament, too.

to ST voters: "Your shoe is untied" "Ha-ha, missed me" ... and where else can you play Cow Video Mode?

(But ST does have its charms.)

early morning crew bump!

Shocked Stranger Things to be in this company, I need to give it another chance.

#12 1 year ago

Dinner time bump. Eat and vote.

Hard for me to see metallica losing to monster bash. No comparison, I've owned both and couldn't wait to sell mb

I could see the theme being a turnoff for some people. If you're not a fan of Metallica (the band) you're probably not going to want to play a pin where their music is playing for the length of the game.

Very sad that Lebowski is up against Godzilla...The Dude will be dropping out way too soon

My GZ left early. I rarely played it. Got bored of the same monster battles (only one I found semi-fun was the spinner one) and the rest of the code just didn't do it for me. There was no real exciting moment or feeling of "I almost got here" which made me want to keep playing it.
I'm obviously in the minority. Loved the layout, loved the theme, but I just didn't have a blast playing it.

I agree, that's one of the reasons I sold mb so quick, the soundtrack bugged me. Game was too easy, and I'm an avg player at best

That’s how I feel with Shadow vs JP. I wasn’t a big fan of JP and let it go. Shadow I keep thinking I will sell or trade and then play a couple games and fall in love again.

My sentiments exactly....still voted for the Dude out of respect, lol... the latest code and polish really makes it a great, great game

The fix is in. Metallica is getting robbed. Stop the steal.

Always have to remember that most players are not good, and MB is a lot easier.

One of the rare matchups that I don't like either game ( MB too boring even for me, and just never warmed up to MET), so passed.

Suspect the best battle of the round, however...

Lyman went back and made Met easier after a few years I think, if that tell us anything

Glanced during morning meetings...does Maiden really beat LOTR? Could come down to the wire, as always one of Sterns strongest games...

#28 1 year ago

The bugger here is there are a LOT of people who've never played Lebowski. Not really a fair fight when half the people voting have never even tried it. Your grandmother has battled Titanosaurus. Everything else seems like a pretty level voting field...maybe JP vs Shadow, but I'm guessing most of pinside at least has put a little time on Shadow.

Does for me easy; but I've never been a big LOTR fan. A lot like TAF a respect the hell out of it, but no thanks.

Im not a LOTR fan either so agreed on easy pick. Just seemed to be a solid mainstay for quite some time.

( still love TAF though...really the game that got me into putting them in my home eventually)

Ditto.....sad to see the Dude go down, but sort of expected. Shaping up to be brutal, but still think one of the proven, time tested warriors is gonna take it.
MM, AFM, and TZ are not gonna fall easy.

Pushing my chips all in on TZ to repeat...

I'm only one data point, but I'd played several Lebowskis before I ever touched a Godzilla, and it's no contest. Like, not even close. Lebowski might even have an advantage, some owners want to pump up their rare game with a vote.
