I had the exact same thing happen in the exact same scenario. I had a MM with no WPC-95 boards. Went the all Rottendog boards route and had a garbled display just like what you see. Replaced the MPU with a WMS one and everything worked. And I also had to buy all new ribbon cables too so I know that was not the problem...

I also had a Congo that I got with all the boards missing and went the all Rottendog boards route and it worked.

So something is just out of spec on the WPC-95 Rottendog boards I think to create this scenario you are mentioning but apparently not for all WPC-95 games. (I know of another who had the same experience too.)

I contacted Jim about it and he said he never heard of this happening before of course....Hope that helps.
