I'm a property owner/developer, so the 1000s of empty and deserted buildings fascinate me. What's the backstory? Who owns this place? Whys it empty? Why don't they fix it up? All questions I ask ...
Most of the States is very nice, as everyone knows ... But there are a lot of areas that are in disrepair. I notice the President announced yesterday that they are putting more money into infrastructure upgrades which is great news.
If you do Route 66 ... Half the small towns are deserted and run down. It's just the way it is. It's people like Melba The Mouth up in Galina, Kansas who are doing the right thing and saving the heritage before it's all gone.
