I own a bride of pinbot and it's running version l-8 which is a larger chip than the l-6. I had to jump the board to accept the larger chip. My question is if i burn l-6 on the larger chip will it work? I'm kinda lazy and don't want to keep jumping the board to swap versions. Thanks

I was wondering about this too. What rom type did you burn l-8 too, and what did you have to jump?

L-2 through L-6 use a 1mb rom chip.. L-7 and L-8 (which is a user made version of L-7 with the multiplayer bug fixed) go on a 2mb chip. W1 and W2 are the points that needed to be jumped on the board. as explained here

Yes, if you double the image first.

Assuming Windows, from a command prompt:

copy /b l6.rom+l6.rom l6x2.rom

We are a visual bunch, so photos might help

Once rejumpered, the board will still run the L-6 ROM, no need to move the jumper back.

I used the copy command and was able to double the image. I installed L-6 (after patching it with the LED ghosting fix) and everything works great! thanks all

Hopefully you patched it before doubling it...

Good job!

You don't have to double it! It will run just fine with the larger chip jumper set.

yeah. I definitely patched it before doubling it =)
