I like the art very much, one of the best Maiden's ever. What I'm not fond is the fact that the picture is stretched.
Markmon I applaud your efforts by why do this since Stern is bringing Maiden to fruition next year ?

My goal here was to do something useful with the terrible Rolling Stones game rather than to create an iron maiden game. Little else provided so much interesting artwork and fun action figures while retaining meaning to the inserts that can't really be changed. A stern iron maiden pin may come out and there may be several issues with it:
1) art package is unknown
2) software is big unknown. It could be another whole year until sw is done enough to buy. Or it could be abandonware like kiss.
3) layout is unknown.
I'd rather create something unique out of a turd and enjoy it now.
I mean I don't even know how they would ever come up with Translites that everyone would be happy with. Can't wait to see some of the talent that create custom ones in the future.

Ok got a lot more done to the playfield.
Got my trooper Eddie mounted in place of the ridiculous band. It came with w ground cover that fits perfectly over the plastic area.

Also replaced the super cheesy flat plastic speakers with Mezel mods speakers and attached the flashers to them. They look great.
Made a ramp plastic for the left ramp and put a light on it. Blocks the view of the back inserts but that's good cause those still have stones band member names on them and now you can't see that lol.
This thing is off the charts!! VERY well done. I'm curious how you will record new callouts etc. I'd like to change several on mine but not sure how to do it and not have them sound like crap. For Stern not to do this as their next music pin would be a crime. Can't wait to see some gameplay.
Cabinet art AWESOME...
Only thing I'd improve on is don't stretch the Iron Maiden on the front, and if that's not possible I'd lose it altogether.
I really like the cab artwork except for the pinball. It looks fake because it is not reflecting the environment. I'd lose it as it doesn't really add a whole lot. Also make sure you are accounting for where legs overlap art. Your current render makes me think that the side art logo might get covered a smidge. Front logo also looks stretched.
Great project! Looking forward to seeing the final product.
What are you printing the translate on? I made one for Raven, printed 2 copies on bond paper using the OCE plotter at work & laminated them together so it wouldn't look washed out. I did it as a test & it looks pretty good, but I'm thinking of asking the print department if I can try Mylar. There's one type of Mylar that's frosted on one side. I'm thinking that printing it on the smooth side may work. The frosted side would go on the back & diffuse the light.

I gave up on this and sent it to gameongraffix to print.

Thanks for the feedback. Ill try a smaller centered text.
Quoted from Robotronx:I love the work you are doing here.
Make sure the legs won't cover up the Iron Maiden on the sides.
Good call. It might get covered. I'll test it on a small section print.

Yea this is a problem. I'm "borrowing" some callouts and sound fx from my Metallica and acdc, currently.
Would look much better if I wasnt blinded by blue and purple LEDs. Just go with cool white so you can see something other than just blue...
Quoted from ngoett:Would look much better if I wasnt blinded by blue and purple LEDs. Just go with cool white so you can see something other than just blue...
If you're going to use the word "blinded" then I'd like to point out that cool white is the brightest most blinding color available in an led since all other colors are "less than".
Anyways, the images are heavily blue. It's not the leds. The above images, for example, look similar with the lights off. But everything photos poorly so colors don't look quite right here.
Quoted from hAbO:Hey Markmon,
This looks killer. Have you thought about potentially making "kits" for people?
Would love to do that unfortunately I don't think this would be stuff I could legally sell (other than maybe selling my personal machine off).

It would be a real shame if a torrent file was stolen off your computer and published on the internet...If giant companies like Sony can't guard their content from hackers on their servers, how can a lowly hobbyist do it with a $79 firewall?

It's much more than just the rom file though. There could be a way to make more of a diy kit.
Here is a picture that might show the lighting better. It's really hard to photo this stuff.

Maby, just maby, because he can.
God bless the number of the beast.

.... for it is a human number!
Any chance that you might bring this to pin a go go? I know many that would love to see it and play it.
Quoted from mrgone:Any chance that you might bring this to pin a go go? I know many that would love to see it and play it.
I will bring this with the pinballbulbs pinballs I donate for shows to the NW show and to CAX. But I guess pinballbulbs is not allowed at pin-a-go-go because of Nifty LED or something like that. It was really hard to understand, and I don't have all the details but it was something like that so we take pinballs and support CAX instead.
Man I'm not even that huge a Maiden fan but that Rolling Stones machine looks so lame and this looks so badass. Great execution, it looks really professional.
You need to add a Marshall logo on these amps!
Quoted from arcaderehab:I think the moving Eddie should be replaced with a Janick Gers bash toy
Best idea ever!! "Get off the stage Gerrrrrrs!!"

I didn't plan on adding anything else but an Eddie I guess I ordered showed up and I was messing with it and the top torso came off and I saw it was hollow inside. Stuck a light in it and his rib cage glowed red. So I had to mount this. So redid the plastic over the center ramp with a light up futuristic Eddie from final frontier. Of course my camera sucks so colors are all bombed and glareing where they are not.
This looks so great. Makes me want to do the same with my RS.
I think the only improvement would be to replace the stage lighting plastic at the back of the machine to an Iron Maiden plastic like the one you installed. I think it would just fill the machine out that much better.
Really great work Mark.

Hey Chris. Do you mean the one that looks like fake stage lights pointing down? Or the backboards the live concert? Any ideas what you'd put there instead? Did you mean maybe the actual words "Iron Maiden"? (The one I have came by luck with the trooper figure in the package and I almost threw it away).

No way, he puts on a great show!!! He's up there on stage for a good reason.
I was right side front of stage (Gears side)for seventh son tour in Winnipeg a few years back and Gears put on a great show!
