I'm doing a restoration on Rollergames. Can someone tell me why there is this film that makes parts of the playfield green? It looks like it was applied to provide some sort of protection. In the attached picture, you can see what I'm talking about at the top half of the pic. I've done a complete tear down and these areas are now impossible to clean so I'm thinking I need to paint over it. Thanks for your advice.

That's Mylar, if it wasn't there and your playfield wasn't diamond plate you probably wouldn't have any paint left

In this pic from my Rollergames tear down you can see even more dramatic yellowing. Mylar covers the gray to the left and white to the right. The top gray and middle white show the yellowing from age, smoke, fry grease, soot etc. Mine is a little rough but still worth putting some love into her.
