// Error: Image 230508 not found //// Error: Image 230508 not found //
I just picked up a Rollergames in known non-working condition.
The game will not boot up, and looks like the above picture. Some jibbirisch in the display and a couple of lights in the backbox and playfield light up (some other might work as well but are just broken).

Everything on the boards looks ok, the diagnostics/led/5-volt lights on the mpu-board light up as they should (static/blinking/static) and the aux-power board is new and fully working (tested in another machine).
I read about that a closed/short circuited slam-tilt switch might cause this problem, but that seems to be ok here.
Anyone knows what this could be?

Try switching off and immediately on with the coindoor open
(not a solution for the display but maybe the attract mode will start).

Sorry, no luck with that. Same as before.

Slam tilt Stuck Closed.

Rollergames shows that on the display during a slam tilt.

Pull the batteries, pull the switch and solenoid connectors off the MPU and leave them off, and open the coin door. Power Cycle.

Battery Leaking can also stick the slam tilt closed on the MPU, check for Acid Damage below the batteries.

Removed the connectors, batteries and powered on and off. Nothing.
Put everything back again. Still nothing.
No visual of leaked batteries (checked the backside as well earlier for that, but the board looks clean).
Thanx anyway for input so far!

Other ideas?

Could this be a game-rom error, that thinks the game is slam-tilted?
Could it have anything to do with the ic-board?

Maybe it's just worth buying a replacement cpu-board.

You can use a test eprom to verify all PIAs are working correctly.
BTW did you try to reverse the display flatcable at one side ?

Is the diagnostic LED just stuck? Not blinking? Can't tell from a single picture.

Press SW2, the diagnostic switch on the side of the CPU board, and count the blinks of the diagnostic LED, and then check your manual. # of blinks is an error code.

Of course, if it lights, and never goes out.. not gonna be much help.

The diagnostic led is blinking fast, as I think it should.

Will another/new cpu-board solve this problem or could this be triggered by something else?
The game was a bargain so it would still be worth it.

No more ideas about this?
