Working on a Gottlieb Roller Disco and seeing some weird voltages. The 11.5 VAC is coming in at 24.5 volts, and the 14 VAC is at 29.6 volts. The 69 VAC is also a bit high at 74.2 volts. Checked the voltages originally at J1 on the power supply board (with all power supply board connectors disconnected), then confirmed it by checking directly at the small transformer. The interesting thing is that this game was working (more or less) when it was dropped off, so I assume the +5 and -12 volts were at least reasonably close, even with those elevated voltages going into the power supply board. I was really shocked that this thing would start a game (even before I checked the voltages), since it had been sitting for about 30 years, original battery on the CPU board, no ground mods or updates of any kind.
So I guess I need to try to track down a replacement transformer. Can't remember the last time I had to replace a transformer, but apparently these are prone to failure. Oddly enough most of the failures seem to be with the 69 volts, which is relatively close on this game. Part number is B-17921 just in case anyone happens to have one just lying around . I'll probably try Steve Young on Monday.
