Mine just got a Pin2DMD installed. Instead of the original acrylic cover, I created a new one in gray and some foam rubber to cover the area outside the display area.
Just putting the display brightness to maximum works well.

Having a problem with mine now. It behaves a bit strange. Sometimes, when starting a new games it says "Ball saved" and auto-launches the ball - even though no ball had been played. Also the fun modes get activated and started randomly.
Switch test show no strange behavior. All switches that I could think of seems to work well. Any idea?
P.S. I updated the display ROM, but I wouldn't expect that this has any impact on the game itself. But I might still try the old ROM instead if nobody has a better idea.
Same issue with the old ROM. These are not "old" anyway. Therefore, the problem has to be something else. Any other idea?
Hmm, the Pin2DMD. I'll have a look at this. As everything seemed to run stable with the display on 12V, I didn't use an external 12V power supply. Thanks for the tip.
