Totan playfield was pretty dirty and wear at genie magnet, bazarr and the kick out. cab was fadded also. looked like a good player. would have needed complete restore to make it super nice. dont know if they worked it out but owner was wanting 5000.00. great to see Buddy,Banker,Lori and Rad.(EDIT)Sorry didnt mean to leave Wolfy out

    #52 10 years ago

The TOTAN needed a full shop and had wear around the genie magnet and very slight insert wear on 3-4 inserts but overall very good shape. Cabinet was nice with very little fade. I would have been interested if I did not already have one.

I had fun for the 45 minutes or so that I was there. I had a Metallica to get home and unbox thanks to Buddy. 20130803_100252.jpeg20130803_100252.jpeg

Was fun meeting a bunch of you, and seeing some of you again.

I'll see you again at the one in december.

The auction was over by 2:30 and only crowded for the pins. I post a few pics of some of the pins soon.

Baywatch was only 875 I really do bring 'em to try to sell them. It seems like it only cost more to keep storing them and moving them around. Played all day, top left flipper quit but was better than most as far as being able to play at this auction. Lots and lots of part machines.

doughslingers, it was great to finally meet you. Some great stuff you brought to sell today.

Very nice TOM cabinet with decent playfield. Non working trunk but could play as if it worked so no ball hangups. Sold 4050

Xmen Wolverine again no love at auctions and the price shows. Even had extras. Amazed you can have a 20 year old well used Bally/Wms pin and the value is so high but a one year old new Stern like Xmen gets no respect in price. A good buy. I was outside doing a parking lot deal on Pistol Poker or I would have bid on it.

I was outside again for this pin but it seems like a good deal, as I sold a Jokerz for 1100 maybe 1200 a couple of sales back in Winston Salem, the pin looked good especially for that price. I know one Pinsider is really wanting a Jokerz this might have been the perfect one and priced right.

    That X-men had some issues.

When BadBrick and I played it for about 10 minutes total, all of the following happened:

-the ball got stuck on top of the blackbird scoop

-it kicked out double balls 3 or 4 times

-the game "lost" the balls in the magneto lock and it wouldnt release them in the ball search for a minute or two

-the game tilted and froze up, we had to reboot it to get it to say anything other than TILT

    #65 10 years ago

Last pics but here some of the parts machines. If you needed parts this was the auction to be at!
    Police Force 50 dollars
    Whitewater 250
    Game show 125
    Hurricane 150

Thanks for looking! Hope to see everyone in Sept.

    Buddy

Thanks for all of the updates & photos! What, no B_R at this one?
While all of you guys were having fun, I was busy doing electrical work all day in the future game room... otherwise I'd have been there. Hitting the December auction for sure though. (I hope.)

I think that Jokerz would have gone home with you!

My ears were burning all day.
On the plus side, Jokerz has dropped way down on my wish list recently due to a craving for F-14. But yeah... that's the price I've been waiting for. Figures....

    #70 10 years ago

I guess it was good I was outside on Xmen as I had not checked it out.

Better luck next time. I almost took Pool Sharks last time and missed out on it as the one there sold for 1400. Not saying mine would have done that but with the first one priced that way, I would have been happy with 1200.
I do think prices are going down on all pins, even trashed out TAF used to bring over 3k and TOTAN should have been in the 5's

If you can make it to Kingsport in Sept stop by my place and see the system 11 room.

Missed ya there Ed. Hope we can catch up at the december one.

Give doughslingers enough games to sell me an AC/DC premium for $2k, and I'll give you my F-14.

    #72 10 years ago

I have a HUO ACDC premium with shaker for 6k delivered next auction.

    #73 10 years ago

There were some awfully good deals there, but they weren't on pins I particularly wanted. I did buy the TOTAN, however. I worked out a deal with the seller since I wouldn't go to what was, in effect, his reserve. It's not a steal by any means, but it is a quite reasonable price in the current market. I simply would not have bought a TOTAN at full retail.

I have to say that it cleaned up beautifully this evening. Someday I'll get it fully restored, but we'll definitely enjoy it in the meantime. A very nice addition to the lineup, and the one pin that my wife really enjoys.

    #74 10 years ago

Congrats on your TOTAN Craig - I played a few games on it this morning (never played one before) and I thought it played really well. I bet it did clean up very nicely - post some pics if you can!

Next auction in Sept? Or next one in Winston in Dec.?

Dec would give me time to sell some stuff to fund ACDC. . This is not a commitment yet, just a question...

So... wish in one hand, crap in the other, & see which gets filled up first?? Bah!
    See you in December.

Would have totally bought that DM. After playing Compy's D2K I would have been putting an LCD in before the weekend was over! (Well, given that I am still in the open wall phase of a remodel, it would have been some other weekend, but before the end of that weekend!)

    #78 10 years ago

my apologies if this was asked previously but was there a buyers premium or sales tax? if so what were they?

10% buyers, 8% sales tax...If you are a seller, no buyer's commission so it's always good to take something to sell. Even a neon or beer sign will do.

    #80 10 years ago

Premium if not an operator is - 10% of sales price, 7% tax and 3% if you pay by credit card

Sorry the Sept auction is in Kingsport TN by the same auction company. Very nice facility to host the auction at the Convention Center with attached motel and new Kingsport swimming center close to it.

    #82 10 years ago

Thanks for posting all of the pictures Buddy!

There were finally some good prices this auction. The playfield on the junker WH20 was actually pretty nice, kind of wish I would have bought and stored for later . I got an RS in the parking lot that was pre-arranged, been Mylar pulling today (blech). The wwf royal rumble was a real steal I think, it was nice and played well. Congrats to Jeff on that one. The wpt was actually pretty nice too, I just hate the game.

    #84 10 years ago

WWF was a great deal, even had a shaker motor but they all did. I would have paid a 1000 dollars for that one but missed that part of the auction.

    #85 10 years ago

Sorry, Buddy...You were tied up with me in the parking lot on the PP. I didn't mean to make you miss anything

    I started a clean-up thread: http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/totan-cleanup-in-progress-suggestions-about-jinn

Everything is cleaning very well other than the base of the rubber jinn. I wonder if someone has found the right solvent or if the cause is hopeless.

That's exactly what I said to my son. Someone got a good deal on that. Good luck with the WH20 search. I wondered if you were the one who bought the other WH20. 'Guess not.

Its ok, you saved me on the Xmen. I found a Magneto after missing out on one over a 100 dollars and I will find a Wolverine for 5k somebody will sell one or trade one.
I did get a great family picture of you all but did not post per request. I hope Pistol Poker made the ride over the mountains ok and getting in your home was ok. Ben and Jim saw the quarters come out of the pin.

Thanks again. I am going to post my Alvin G lineup soon!

When it was stalling for around $1800-2k I was definitely ready to throw my number up, but once it got up over $3k I was out. $3600 plus the fees would have put it too high for me. They're coming harder to find for much less than $4k, but I know if I bide my time and keep my eyes peeled, eventually the right one will come up for the right price. I'm hoping to lock one for $3500 or less in decent shape. I did talk to an op there though that said he might have one or two in one of his warehouse -- gave him my number, so fingers crossed!
