I think they are both great movies and great Star Wars movies. As far as which is better it's hard to say, I'm a big believer in multiple watchings of a movie and I've only gotten to see rouge one once and force awakens many times. But I really liked the way they shot rouge one and it's one of the best shot Star Wars movies and was beautiful to look at plus I really liked how they didn't use a lot of CGI in it. Force awakens didn't do to much CGI either but rouge one did barley any. I think rouge one was as good as a "star wars story" can get maybe even a little better and the end with vador was amazing.
