I have a nice Gottlieb Rocky for sale. It is in very nice shape and works 100%.
I took this in as a package deal and have it for sale on Ebay. Please take a look at it for a full description.

ebay.com link: ROCKY PINBALL MACHINE BY GOTTLIEB BOXING ROCKY BALBOA STALLONE VERY RARE

I know it is priced high but there is not a lot to go on as far as value for this title. I have a couple offers but was going to see if anyone here had an interest in it. Feel free to email me with an offer. Shipping is not a problem and I can put it on a pallet or build a crate also.

I miss the days when manufacturers would make crazy flipper layouts every once in a while.

#3 9 years ago

that's a pretty sweet looking pin... flipper layout is really trick , I never knew until I saw this post that Rocky was an actual production Pin ....thought it was just made for the movie and that one scene where Pauley smashed out the back glass on it

#4 9 years ago

They used a special glass for the movie that just said Rocky on it. I've been looking for that glass for the last dozen years, if anyone has a lead on one let me know.
Thanks and good luck with you sale, very very nice game!!

Really nice, my 10 year old son would love this pin. He's a big Sly fan.

Sorry for the FS thread hijack, but if anyone had a Rocky harness, I could really use one for my project.

Don't see these often and I just want my Rocky playable one day.

... and SoCal's looks like a beauty, GLWS!

clean game, and it should fetch a great price, very hard to find a clean example like this

#11 9 years ago

I know of 3 people with the movie backglass, and NONE of them will part with it.. believe me I have tried!

#12 9 years ago

picture?

#13 9 years ago

I have heard there are a few of those back glasses out there. I had one person who was going to buy my pin and make it look like the movie pin but didn't have any luck finding it either.

It looks like you would need to change where the score displays are if you were to use the movie version.

Rocky is sold pending payment. Thank you.

The movie version was made only for the movie, the game was not ready by the time filming was started, so another game was used... and I should remember what game.. but anyway.. and I know of 3 out there, could be more.. and I have BEGGED for one of them to let it go.. Look at my user name!!!!

Not sure why, but I thought Rocky was rarer than 1,504 produced. I thought it was in the low hundreds for some reason.

Still on the rare side since it was another Gottlieb from that era which was heavily exported overseas.

Most of these games were sent overseas, there are not a lot of them left in the US..

The flipper arrangement on this game is a total mind fk. It was in one of my banks in pinburgh and it just messed with me so badly. You're so used to centering yourself on the flippers. Its really disorienting.

#21 9 years ago

I was told that there originally were 10 glasses made for the movie, don't know how many are left. IIRC, it was a non-functional game and the side art is the same as on Pink Panther cabinets.

I have been watching for this title since I got the nos pf for it. I absolutely love the game play. your game is in exceptional condition! just for comparison, one sold in Michigan a couple months ago for 4k, and in my opinion the pf and cab were really worn, and cracked up. I don't think you are far off with that price at all. It is a collector game, and they don't come up often. to me it has the trifecta: great play first and foremost, great theme, and the way you play to win rounds, or play for points. personaly I never even look at the points, and lastly great art.

I seriously doubt I will ever own one because of the prices, but hope keeps ya going!
gool luck. super nice game. actually you should keep it

I just posted my Rocky today and was having trouble. It says that I am not set up to receive Pinside mail. I hope that I'm not posting in the wrong spot.
