So I've had this Rocky and Bullwinkle for a while, but one problem is the ball keeps getting stuck near the center hole (area in red). Is there supposed to be a ball guard/wire guard here?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Update: So the rubber ring I ordered isn't big enough. Does 1 1/2" or 2 1/2" rubber ring go there? 3/4" ring isn't the right size.
