Well done Spacex! Unfortunately to much cloud coverage in so cal. The webcast was fun to watch.
Launches always make me proud of mankind and optimistic for future space exploration.
Now back to pinball till next launch.
Watched the heavy lift out of Kennedy again.
The 2 rockets landing back on pads in tandem is almost science fiction.
Quoted from John_I:Working at Kennedy Space Center, we get to see them up CLOSE:

Great pictures , Thanks.
To date, one of the highlights of my life was the pilgrimage to Kennedy to see Space Shuttle Discovery launch, both trips.
Quoted from DCFAN:Another awesome launch and recovery.
Those recoveries are amazing

The ULA isn't happy right now. This is working better.
Thank you for all the updates.
This is stuff I dreamed about as a kid.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Damn that's exciting to watch, so proud to be an American.
So true, very impressive shit for the 21st century.
Great Launch. Go USA!
Not as impressive as an Space-X launch, but love the technology involved.
Thanks to Pinballlew Pinside space updates!
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Watched the Space X last night from my Yard in Orlando.
Stunning Orange Ball! A bit different.....Anyone know if its a different fuel or mix?
Never gets Old![quoted image]
Same mix of fuel.
What you saw was the actual flame of engine due to night launch. We get the white smoke on day launches. Its still there, just harder to see the white smoke.
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:hmm...Not to give you a hard time....Normally, We see more yellow in night launches....Nozzle?....Could be my eyes...the pic I posted isnt what I saw...Im 60 miles away.
ll check further, my Nephew heads up Propulsion for Blue Horizon.
Darn it Art, made me go look it up.
First, that pic is a press photo time lapse.
Rocket was a Falcon nine which uses modern mix of liquid oxygen (LOX) and rocket-grade kerosene (RP-1) propellants. It was named after the Millennium Falcon and the nine engines of the rocket's first stage.
Same propellant for the heavy lift Titan and SAL launches.
Your angle and distance could have a parabola effect of the earth's curvature. Although it doesn't seem like much, but the distance from launch can determine the hues and colors. Thus being a little further if rocket was going away from you, it could be more red. Yes, i was referring to nozzle burn.
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:(sorry Eric....didnt mean to make you work! Need a Creature Translite? )
You know, it wasn't work, I enjoy learning everyday.
I would love to display that Creach, I just know it would sit in the Blueprint cabinet with the others for a long time.
But Thank You Art.
Quoted from MustangPaul:I watched the replay, just beautiful. Hope the boosters made it back ok. Launches never get old.
This Rocket is a Beast. Just shy of the strength of the Saturn-V from Apollo, it also stands 23 stories high!
The 1st Stage Rocket was recovered successfully , and this was the third launch for it. That stat alone is Historic!
This Launch sent the First Rover from Israel to the Moon!
This is a great page and article. Includes great video.

Crew Demo Launch goes live in 90 min.

This is an unmanned test flight on the Dragon rocket in preparation to go to the Space station.
Success!
Dragon made a great launch and the capsule will meet up with the space station tomorrow.
It will be released next Thursday and recovery will be in the Atlantic off of Florida.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Man I get teary eyed watching this. LOL
I have to admit, i do to.
Just an amazing feat of engineering, will power, and the human race moving forward.
This Shit is just to cool!!!
Success, Stage one rocket has perfect return home landing on pad !!
That alone in our lifetime is an amazing achievement.
God speed to Crew and Dragon.
The last time I was in Fl was 11 years ago for the Discovery Launch. Still a Highlight in my life. Was a very long day. I was very lucky and after 2 years of trying, got the Nasa lottery for good up close tickets. Still 3 miles out on shore past pad, but it was a blast. Same launch pad being used today.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Looks like tentative return date for Bob and Doug, 2 August, weather permitting.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/17/tech/nasa-astronauts-spacex-launch-return-date-scn/index.html
We watched for about an hour yesterday, 4pm pacific time here. This dragon Capsule is an Amazing piece of engineering. The release from Space Station was not to exciting. But the descriptions of the release bolts and air jets was.
Bob and Doug are set to splash down in Florida at 2:32 Pm Eastern/ 11:32 am pacific.
Tune in early as this can happen by as much as 12-20 min early!
Safe Landing Guy's!!
Love this SpaceX Future Stuff.
Congrats Spacex and Dragon cargo ship!
Last launch of the year.
Love that stage 1 barge landing everytime.
Quoted from Pinballlew:I thought that rocket was going to fly by now, sorry guys who knows, I guess I’ll watch the vod if it does lol
Attempted launch at 435 central.
Clock was good till 1.3 seconds left, than auto engine shutdown.
Just an amazing Buck Rodgers ship.
https://www.spacex.com/launches/ Go to 1hour and 45 min mark to avoid 90 min delay. that takes you to the 6 min flight.
Pic is from yesterday.

The coolest thing since the Wright brothers!
Watching these rockets coming back home and hitting the mark.
Congrats to Spacex for an Amazing year.
I hate to see them blow up, but damn fing neat stuff. One big remote control rocket.
Got SN10 sitting there waiting.
Quoted from mbwalker:It'll be interesting to see what was up w/the 2nd engine. I saw a piece come flying out out the engine area when it tried to relite (NasaSpaceFlight feed).
SpaceX feed had a camera angle directly under Starship as it was coming down. Incredible video.
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
Saw that too! Something came loose.
Also that thruster buzzing around after crash was interesting.
Great launch. Bummer, first stage missed the drone ship by about 150 feet.
I wonder if they can pull it up from ocean floor?Shame they cant design an emergency float system.
Quoted from jhanley:How far can it venture from the base lander?
Pretty Far, this baby purrs!
image0000001(3) (resized).pngSBIRS GEO-5Atlas V 421 Florida launch in about 10-20 min. Sorry for late notice.
https://www.spacelaunchschedule.com/
Quoted from Pinballlew:Tomorrow don’t miss this launch
Quoted from mbwalker:Been a long time in the making, can't wait. It's def a beast!
Setting multiple alarms for wake-up. Making my 16 year old wake up to.
Exciting stuff.
Quoted from mbwalker:What's the 2nd picture showing?
That was just exhaust plume cloud with the sun setting. Pic 2 and 3.
Quoted from mbwalker:So what's this?[quoted image]
Funny! Police Helicopter flying into shot.
Launch was fun to watch, but....
What's up with no on-board camera's.
Nasa. Call Elon and figure the camera on rocket thing. Jeez. Billion bucks no camera's?
