Quoted from MustangPaul:I just can't believe that some people STILL say this is fake.
I am not sure what you mean???
Also, why the thumbs down for John_I posting a link above?
Quoted from MustangPaul:Oh yeah people have been posting videos saying how we have never been in space and the whole Space X is fake. Google the subject.
Sorry about that I must have hit the thumbs down by mistake.
Thanks. It is amazing how ignorant some of the skeptics and conspiracy theorists can be.
If SpaceX was faking it, wouldn't the Russians, Chinese or NASA show that it was a ruse? The same thing with the man on the moon skeptics.
Also, Russia would have also either gone to the moon or faked it if it was that easy to get away with faking.
Quoted from xsvtoys:Big one set for 8:15 PST tonight...
Live Coverage:

Something happened at T-7 and they aborted. Clock is reset to T-4 minutes.
It was interesting seeing the flames at the bottom and then just shut down. I believe they said before the attempt that initial flames are for burning off excess hydrogen.
Quoted from Pinballlew:Something caught fire that wasn’t supposed to and they shut it down
It definitely looked unusual when it fired up, like something was catching fire that normally does not burn like that.
Appears to be Dec. 18:
https://spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/
Dec. 18/19Delta 4-Heavy • NROL-71
Launch time: 0157 GMT on 19th (8:57 p.m. EST; 5:57 p.m. PST on 18th)
Launch site: SLC-6, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California
A United Launch Alliance Delta 4-Heavy rocket will launch a classified spy satellite cargo for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office. The largest of the Delta 4 family, the Heavy version features three Common Booster Cores mounted together to form a triple-body rocket. Delayed from Sept. 26. Moved forward from Dec. 3. Delayed from Nov. 29. Scrubbed on Dec. 7 by an issue with holdfire circuitry. Scrubbed on Dec. 8 at T-minus 7.5 seconds. [Dec. 13]
Falcon 9 (Florida, 9:35 AM eastern) and Delta 4-Heavy (California, 5:57 PM pacific time, 8:57 PM eastern) are both scheduled for Dec. 18.
Quoted from Pinballlew:Launch scrubbed for tonight due to high winds, will attempt the 19th @5:44pm
Falcon 9 in Florida also moved to tomorrow morning (19th around 9 am eastern).
Quoted from MustangPaul:The most historic film and picture of all time.
I believe you accidentally gave him a thumbs down.
That moment was like the Phoenix of 1968, something great rising from the ashes of a horrible year. I was just over 2 months old.
10 Minutes to launch:

Once again the booster landed safely. They seem to have solidified the processes at this point. The main thing they will probably want to significantly improve on is the items that are causing the delays.
Quoted from John_I:I worked supporting the launch in a very minor role last night here in Florida. It sure was exciting. The primary mission seems to be going well from all the information released online. The landing was amazing and the seas were a little rough. Getting the first stage back is quite a good thing for a test mission like this because it will allow a full post flight inspection. The main purpose of landing the first stage is to save money by reusing them, but the benefits to verifying the design extend well beyond that primary reason.
It was also good to see Ripley make it to orbit on a nice smooth ride.
The ability to assess if there were any materials/mechanical flaws in the rocket design post launch is so valuable in ensuring safety for future missions. What a great design! Thanks for posting.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Looks like another successful launch and recovery!
What do the flat earthers says when these are broadcast live and one can see the curvature of the earth?
They probably say the government and space companies fake the video/images. Science is just too scary or too complicated for some. There is nothing wrong with questioning or challenging known understandings/science but you still have to be able to work within what has been discovered and/or proven.
Another argument I have seen from flat earthers is that we are living in a sort of Truman show where nothing is really real (artificial reality).
