Bally, 1993The flasher above the rocket launcher in TZ won't turn off and the lamp area eventually started smoking. Have no idea what's going on. I pulled the lamp but this issue is totally above my "tech grade." Not sure this will help but here are photos of the PF underside where the wiring comes down and also of the troublesome socket itself. No other flashers are having problems.

20150429_050628.jpgsounds like you might have a short on the ground side of the wiring. Is the socket itself burned? I'd get your dvm out and check the resistance from each side of the socket to ground. then check your wiring backwards to the connector on the box. Have you checked the pins on the driver board that drive that flasher? I'd look in the light matrix and see if you have other bulbs in the row/column that are having an issue as well.
