Installed a new mpu, driverboard and power supply board.
Connectors looks good and i have repinned the bad ones.

When i powerd on the machine the knocker coil in the bottom of the cabinet got very hot so i disconnected it and also the coil for the ball kicker to the shooter lane and out to the playfield gets warm.

The display does not light up and a lot of the lights are missing.
Different lights are lit each time i power up the machine.
Fuses have been checked with a multimeter.

I notised that the led for U6 is not lit and i have the same board for my Bonebusters and there the U6 is lit.
I took the chip from the Bonebusters board and installed it on the Robowar board but no change.

+5 and +12 v are lit on the power supply board.

I have contacted Fred who makes theese boards to see if he has any info on this.

Quoted from ChrisHibler:

I don't know what it means that the LED at U6 isn't lit.
I don't know how Swemmer connected that LED. It might merely mean that there is power at the U6.

Ok.Tested the 5v on the power supply and it's giving out 4.97 so that should be ok.

I also took out the original power supply from my Bonebusters which works fine and put it in the Robowar and tested the voltage and it was just under 5v so i adjusted it right over 5v but the result is still the same.

What about the coils that are getting hot ?
At first i could smell that something wasn't right and it came from the bottom of the cabinet and the bottom coil was so hot i couldn't even hold my hand on it for more than a couple of seconds.

The 2 other coils for the ball kicker to the shooter lane and out to the playfield gets hot but not like bottom coil.

Thanks. I'll take th

Quoted from ChrisHibler:

As slochar says, no coils should get hot or be locked on, normally.
I'd clip the small wire from those that are locking on, for now.
The big can transistors that Gottlieb used to drive the ball release coil often fail after all these years. Gottlieb used 2N5875s originally. Replace with the beefier 2N5884 if you can. The predrive transistor on the driver board may have failed too.
With the LED over U6 on the Swemmer board not being lit, we can't really debug.
What did Mr. Swemmer say about that LED?

Thanks. I'll take the wires off the coils for now.
Where do you recomend i buy the transistors from ?
I have encounterd som bad new ones when buying theese before.
No word from Mr.Swemmer yet so i'll get back on this as soon as i hear from him.
When i removed the U6 chip i saw that "solenoid + lamps" was printed on the board.
For now, thanks for the tips so far
